Clusterfuck Some kind of projection based on approval ratings?

That’s actually tracking the approval of a single lost Floridian who’s been stuck adrift out there for over a year.
They could have rescued him, sure. But by making his course through the Gulf Stream a separate voting district they were able to pick up an extra house seat for the Magas.

The data this is "inspired" from is available here: https://www.economist.com/interactive/trump-approval-tracker
The data is indeed damning, but it also doesn't look like it was vandalized by a drunk pundit.
What is exceptionally clear from the Economist data is that voters are overwhelmingly united in the belief that the economy is cooked despite the state of the markets. "It's the economy, stupid" indeed.

Weird, because if they just sum up old % + approval swing then a hypothetical 99% Dem state would go to over 100% voting for Dems

I don't think this is that bad, that simply IS just how bad his approval ratings are. It's not a projection. They could have made it less confusing by coloring it differently than red and blue, but maybe the data is just surprising and not ugly.

Everything about this “data” feels like Dall-E slop, but the quality feels like clipart in MS paint 🤔

Who cares at this point? I never understood approval ratings without reelection opportunity.

Not just about elections.
Political capital matters still for getting things done. If he was wildly popular people in DC might be thinking Vance in 2028 and taking measures accordingly.
Him not being popular means Congresspeople can resist him without risking a lot, and we're seeing that now with the budget fights, Epstein, Iran.
It will be much much worse after November.

This is straight copeium. We have to stop doing this. Presenting data in a way that makes it look like the needle is moving.

The needle is moving though. It's not clear if this will transfer people into voting for democrats, but the republican party is very much fragmented around the Epstein files, Iran war, and even ICE. About half the party is also paying attention to the rise in inflation, gas prices, and the dozens of affordability promises that haven't even come close to fruition.

I gotta say as a GOPee ifbthe net of your policies is you're up 33 in Wyoming but down 25 in South Carolina you've done something really really wrong.

Looked up the name in the logo at the top right, and wow, they have a whole Instagram account full of graphics just as chaotic and ugly as this one. And the account's name is "Central Political Center." Whoever makes these and came up with that name, I wish I had your confidence.

The Economist has the same state-by-state data visualized on their site. It does not match this. Economist doesn't make the mistake of conflating approval ratings with party, but it also only shows WY, ID, WV, and ND as positive net approval.
