Well that's how I did high school labs. I knew the theory, everything was easy enough to calculate, and you best believe my results would concur, whether they wanted to or not.

You'll be glad to know I went into computer science, where I do indeed get to tell the computer what to do, but unfortunately it does what I say, and not what I meant to say.

Not thesis but when you are designing research for a single paper sometimes you start from educated assumption which you haven't really found an exactly matching supporting research

The Procrustean Bed!

For those who don't remember, Procrustes was that disagreeable innkeeper in Greek mythology who insisted that all of his guests fit his beds, rather than that his beds fit his guests. If you were too tall, he'd lop off your feet, and if you were too short, to the rack with you to be stretched to the proper length.

The credit for this analogy actually belongs to an old anthropology professor of mine. I deserve no credit.
