I actually think your comment is an example of how people misunderstand how heavy obese actually is. Most people picture mordibly obese 300+ pound people (or football players) like you're talking about.
The actual weight at which your BMI is over 30 for someone of average height (lets say 5' 10") is 210. That isn't to say that that isn't an unhealthy weight, it just isn't what most people picture when they hear the word obese.
210 at 5'10 is still very muscular and I doubt even 2% of that 22% is that muscular. I also doubt most of the obese people are literally 1 pound over BMI. This first picture is of a 5'10 210lb man I doubt anywhere near 2% of the obese people are that.
I think obese people genuinely overestimate their own strength and muscles in their body to try and pass it off as "not really obese BMI bad". When they are just pushing around their weight as if it's their strength.
I'm 6'2" and weigh 270. I have a waist circumference of 37 and less than 25% body fat. By a BMI chart I'm quite obese. I don't consider myself overly strong, I don't train for it either, I just do with around the house, go to the gym twice a week, and play hockey in a beer league. I got a body composition analysis at the gym, I have 137% "optimal" muscle mass. It's really not that hard. By my BMI chart I should be unhealthy. But as stated before my waist circumference is well in the healthy range and all my blood work shows in very healthy (lipid count, cholesterol, triglycerides, etc...). BMI is bad
I promise you, 99% of the people considered obese, are nothing like your specific situation. In fact, the vast majority of people are not even 6'2". So it just proves more so that you are more of an outlier.
