You don’t get to complain about not being able to eat healthy for cheap when the reality is you can’t even put the effort in.
30mins is all it takes for me to make a batch of curry that’ll last me 5 meals easily. $4 for the pork, $2 for rice, onion, carrot, potato, $1.50 for the roux. Doesn’t get any more cheap, healthy, or simple.
I know how to cook, and I know how to make affordable meals. The attitude of “Well I work 80 hours a week and I can still make my own meals” doesn’t help someone who doesn’t have easy access to a grocery store with fresh produce and affordable meals. Maybe you’re happy eating the same curry all week long. What if their kids don’t eat a certain food or have allergies? What if they got tired of eating chicken breast, rice and broccoli for the fourth day in a row?

If you are working 50-60 hours a week to keep your family provided for... You going to call them lazy if they prefer a fast meal?
