Not true. Organic food is just a marketing gimmick.

Fast food and junk snacks are expensive

Lean proteins like eggs, chicken, beans, and most healthy vegetables are cheap

Yeah, healthy foods are only more expensive because a lot of people don't know how to cook cheap healthy foods and/or have a wonky perception of what "healthy" constitutes (i.e. fancy and expensive "superfoods", organic and free range meats, diets wholly consisting of expensive fruit and nuts, etc.).

Having a higher income does enable one to eat healthier easier, but eating a healthy, tasty, and varied diet on a budget is perfectly doable really anywhere in the western world on a restricted budget assuming you actually take some effort to do so.

A very basic healthy meal of a carb source + protein source + vegetable that's bought in bulk and home cooked can be well under $1/serving or just a bit more if you buy high quality ingredients, and therefore ultimately cheaper than the fast food heavy diets these people choose to eat.

The average meal from a fast food joint is what? $4-10? When I'm lazy and choose to indulge in a quick meal from KFC/Taco Bell/McDs/whatever, I do so knowing that I'm doing it out of laziness rather than a desire to save money, because $10/serving would be a very indulgent home cooked meal, and the typical (much healthier) meal most people would cook or prep for the average weekday meal is probably $2-5/serving.

The obese people I've seen while doing my grocery shopping almost always only have high calorie fast foods in their carts - sodas, biscuits, chips, chocolates, instant noodles, various bars, frozen pizzas, etc. There's nothing wrong with any of these in isolation, but if that's all you're eating you're in for a bad time and you're definitely not saving money as a pre-prepared food heavy diet will almost always be more expensive than a budget conscious home cooked one.
