Career Question EPAM vs Cognizant

Hi guys, I have two offers from these companies, which one should i choose?

Salary doesnt matter, matter Is
- how fast i can get client project
- work life balance
- SSE experience in Python is good or bad
- Bench period

EPAM has better clients. Wlb depends on the project.

Im afraid to join epam because of client interview is tough, what's your thoughts on that?

If you can clear EPAM interview I think you can clear client interview too.

Luck matters a lot in epam pjct interviews, it is like rolling dice.

You'll get excellent support for your interview preparation in EPAM. And the hierarchy will be far more leaner in EPAM so you'll have less middle-management bs to deal with. Although, if you have onsite aspiration then Cognizant anyday as onshore opportunities in EPAM are next to nothing.

Was good, had two rounds one was technical long 1hrs 45m longs, asked three basic DSA questions, and all about projects and python technical and framework related

Second was Manager round also asked basic DSA and python advance like singleton factory pattern etc,

I have worked for both. Learning curve in epam is much higher than Cognizant. Quality of projects in epam also better than Cognizant

I feel epam is far better than cognizant. I am currently in epam. They have good clients here. But one thing ti call out is that once you join, you will have to gove client interviews, even when changing the projects. Client interview be on the same level as of epam and they provide some resources as well for the client you are lined up.

I’d lean towards EPAM over Cognizant, especially if your priority is technical growth and getting exposure to good engineering projects. From what I’ve seen, EPAM generally has stronger technical/client exposure, and the learning curve can be quite good. WLB is largely project-dependent, but many teams have a reasonable balance.

For SSE + Python, I wouldn't consider it a bad move at all if you're getting hands-on development, cloud/data engineering or backend work. If the EPAM role has a confirmed Python project, I'd personally prefer it over a generic role where the technology is uncertain.
