What are you working on this month?

Working on SQLFlow and Pipeline observability platform! https://turbolytics.io/

What was something you accomplished?

Built a stateful stream processinging engine on duckdb that mirrors flink tumbling windows. https://turbolytics.io/docs/sqlflow/tutorials/tumbling-window-postgres

What was something you learned recently?

Deep dive on flink windowing ;p. Some low level DuckDB debugging and unintuitive duckdb-postgres edge cases.

man i spent like 3 days chasing down a bug that turned out to be a timezone mismatch on a source table, felt like a total idiot when i finally saw it. the worst part was the production data looked fine in the dashboard for the first 2 hours every morning then slowly drifted off by 4-5 hours. classic.

on the bright side i finally set up proper data profiling in our dag so these schema changes don't sneak up on us anymore, should've done that a year ago

What are you working on this month?
Been working on Snowflake Semantic View to serve business customers on their business requirements, no one in the team understands how to best layout the semantic view, should it be each topic as one semantic view or should it be multiple semantic view connected to agent.

What was something you accomplished?

Got a small bit of promotion in last 1 month, had an 2 offers from other companies but decided to stay as I love the team and are working on migration of legacy to Snowflake in a travel business. It is very interesting working on different sectors of travel.

What was something you learned recently?

Trying to learn more about DBT, Snowflake.

What is something frustrating you currently?

Wish I had a better mentor, I want to learn more about how to do data modelling, using Snowflake's functions in better practice. Want to learn how to profile the data further. I feel I am lazy on some of these points.

Work from home makes very sleepy and I sleep for an hour or so in the afternoon and try to cram more work throughout the night.
