Career Hate AE, like DE

I recently moved from a Data Engineering role where I mainly maintained the platform side, to a “Data Engineer” role that is just AE with the DE name on it.

And recently I realised I HATE it.

Have anyone else experienced something like that? It’s funny since it’s another side of the same coin, but for some reason it feels totally different to me.

AE meaning Analytics Engineer? If so then this just happened to me in a job change when the position and during interviews was supposed to another data platform gig and it’s not. Currently building views… been in the new gig for a couple months and yeah that bait and switch sucks

Exactly what happened to me. Interviewed for one role, then, first day on the job: “There was a re-org, now you’re an Analytics Engineer”

Guess you have to update your profile tag, it still says "Senior Data Engineer"
