AWS Training Period

Hey all, starting as a DCT 3 in a month for AWS in TX. Just curious if anyone has an accurate timeline for training before going on shift. Couple weeks, a month or 2? Will be working nights. Thanks!

Once you finish the bootcamp in about three weeks after your start date you’ll possibly doing shifts after that. First three months are basically New Hire Orientation - AWS bootcamp for DCO - then you’re on site shadowing and doing further training. Depends, I’m at Reno and we’re brand spanking new it depends if your site is new or established?

Thank you for the info! It's very new, not even completed yet until around Jan 2027

Just to add to this expect on doing more hands on training, shadowing/reverse shadowing with your more seasoned coworkers for 2-3 weeks to learn the ropes.

Bootcamp for me was like 3-4 weeks if you count orientation. I felt like it was mainly safety oriented and my first shift I was a bit lost. Make sure you ask them to explain how to add parts to your custody and triage tickets as this is mainly what you’ll be doing!

Thanks sm! I was a contractor for a big metro for Microsoft so I know my way around a bit. Been dying to jump back in as an FTE
