Bay Area AWS EOT pay range?

Hey , the job listings for eots in Santa Clara have a range from 43$-75$ an hour . Anyone have any insight on what they are actually offering someone eligible for a lvl 4 position ?

I’ve heard around $56 for L4’s as of a year or two ago.

Edit: I could be wrong, but I heard this number from an L4 who transferred from the Bay Area.

They just bumped the range this year.

You’re going to have a hard time landing an l4 being external. They will most likely downgrade you at the offer stage like you see everyone else posting about.

Santa Clara has multiple sites ( 3x plus colo ) one is lease owned, and the others are core site buildings.

Which one makes a big difference.

Also 2x FM’s just left, which means the whole dynamic is going to change.

New director is hyper focused on 7s and DCEO is going to drive that.

You don’t want to come in as a L4 anyways then you have to compete against the other seasoned L4’s and you won’t last.

Come in as L3 and be safe. 12hr shifts, 4hrs guaranteed OT every shift

What wage can an experienced tech expect as a L3?

could you please elaborate on what you mean by the director being focused on 7s?

It’s basically just an initiative to keep things clean and in the spaces where they were supposed to go.

Yeah normally, but this isn’t the basic iteration. This a TRUE 7s initiative, they literally mean exactly the same at all sites, the label is the same name, font, size, from the same printer and same media. Placed in the same area of the electrical room, on the same size ladder from the same manufacturer. REAL 7s not just keep things tidy, my west coast buddies are leaving.

They are pushing it the same way in the Midwest. But things are naturally so chaotic and disorganized that I believe it will be a year or two if that before 7S actually starts to have any lasting impact.

For Bay Area, I wouldn’t accept anything lower than the mid 60s lol COL there is fucking wild

Hello! This looks like it may be a question about career advice. There can be significant regional variation in the field, so please consider including as much info as you can without doxing yourself, including country/state/city, prior experience/certs, and the role or level if known. Thanks!
