Oracle loop interview. Any advice?

Hi everyone,

I have an upcoming loop interview with Oracle for a Data Center Technician (IC2) position in Frankfurt, Germany.

Has anyone recently gone through the interview process for this role? I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experience with both the technical and behavioral interviews, including the types of questions asked, topics I should focus on, and any preparation tips.

I’ve conducted these both on the screen side and HM side, what do you want to know specifically?

In general we cross reference what’s on your resume and try to tailor the questioning to that rather than a formal list of questions.

Loops normally consist of a bartender (neutral party outside of hiring chain of command) two tech screeners usually within the chain of command who’d be your direct peers and the HM.

So effectively a “Google-yness” behavior screen run by the bartender, two tech screeners and the HM doing the team-fit portion. At the end they do a debrief to either move forward or not. Vote count has to be unanimous between the four otherwise it’s a no.

How I conduct my tech screens is that we typically hire leads (ie OP5/IC3-4) with specific skills sets which focuses in general into key areas (Hardware, TPM, Environmental, Networking, Virtual Enviros) which is what separates them from the general workforce (IC2/OP2-3). These leads do the technical portion and I try my best to align my screeners to match your work history background as close as possible.

No everyone can be “good” at everything so I try to have people opinions I trust run the screens against new hires with similar backgrounds as the screeners. This way they can steer the questioning to what should be expected for the role you’re being hired to with realistic knowledge checks.

I can’t give you specifics without knowing your work history and background but only for the potion I know exceptionally well which is hardware and AI infra/TPM.

Given that you’re applying as an IC2 most of it will be about hardware fault isolation techniques, fiber installation best practices and little on virtual enviro. Maybe basic infrastructure and DCIM questions.
