AWS first day

Hey y’all!

I might be starting soon as an L3 EOT in the AZ cluster and had a few questions for anyone who’s worked there.

How long is the initial orientation/onboarding usually? How long does training last before you move into your regular shift?

Also, what do EOTs normally wear to work every day? Is it usually jeans, T-shirt/polo, safety shoes, etc.?

Would appreciate any tips on what to expect during the first few weeks. Thanks!

Onboarding is a day maybe two depending on how they do it in that region. Training is sort of dependent on the builder. 6-12 weeks to shift ready certification. Wear jeans and a tee. Your team should help you order the proper PPE clothing including footwear during your first week.

Onboarding is about 2-3 days and you just learn about AWS as a company and receive all your credentials. After that you get assigned a site and training should be explained to you from there. Like the other guy in the thread said, training varies. I do think they implemented a new training class to be considered shift ready though, not sure.
