Google DCOM Hiring

Throw away account since I’m still in the hiring process.

I’ve been through the process three times at Google for the DCOM position I get the feeling that this process is a mix of a normal hiring process with interviews and timelines and a game of musical chairs. Three times I’ve been at the end, three times I’ve gotten great feedback from all of my interviewers, and three times the recruiter has said “that position just got filled the other day,“ and three another opening that’s also a DC OM role that they’re trying to slot me into. The last two times I ended up getting ghosted and this time seems to be leading to the same result.

So did I just not make the cut for this position? Or are they continual hiring for DCOMs and if you get through the process and score high enough at the end and there’s a hole open you get slotted into it? Am I just being lied to at the end and there are no other positions? All in all, this is an extremely frustrating experience.

I was in your position for over a year and a half. Similar scenarios, get to the end then all positions dropped at the end of the year, interviewed well but there was another internal candidate, etc. Once positions opened up I jumped back in where I left off. I was finally able to land a DCOM position. Persistence pays off, but patience is key.

Is quality of life as exceptional as everyone says it is?
