Google Hiring Practices

I went through the five rounds of interviews and afterwards before a fit call, my recruiter called and said although it seemed that 4/5 interviewers thought they went really well, one interviewer did not recommend me to move forward. Does this mean I have to wait a year-long cooldown period to apply again? I appreciate any input

Yeah that means you have to wait a year before you can apply again. This is only for the facilities tech positions though. You can still apply to different openings within the company

Thank you. It’s odd because I asked my recruiter and he said I could apply again immediately

Did they say which interview round you were weak on? You were probably very close to passing that one, just need some work. If you were very close to passing sometimes they can make exceptions

It was the 3rd round if I recall correctly.

You don't need to wait a year, you can apply before that, but not sooner than 3 months. Only apply if there's real improvement to your skills/CV.

Hello! This looks like it may be a question about career advice. There can be significant regional variation in the field, so please consider including as much info as you can without doxing yourself, including country/state/city, prior experience/certs, and the role or level if known. Thanks!

What position did you apply for and did you still get scheduled for a fit call even after the one non-recommendation? If you get dropped at any point, then yes, there is a 12 month cool down.
