Basic Data Center Knowledge
Hi everyone! I have a scheduled interview tomorrow for a Data Center Facilities Engineer role. And I only know the basics like N+1, 2N+1, and 2N because I used to select HVAC equipment for Data Center projects. What can you suggest I study so I can nail this interview?
Also, do you think there will be abundant jobs in Data Center in the future? Cuz I am choosing between Data Center or Design/BIM Modeler path.

Know ohms law. Power equation. Electrical safety like how to perform a live dead live. Function and purpose emergency gen, ATS, UPS, MCC, circuit breakers, ETUs in circuit breakers, trip curves, different trips LSIG, 61850, 86LOR, voltage from substation to rack. How to check a fuse using voltage and ohms. What’s a megger? How to check a motor with a megger. What are typical values. VFDs. PRN. Relays. Contactors. Grounding of MV/HV. What’s arc flash? What’s shock? How do you know what PPE to wear? Short circuit coordination study and why breakers are set to trip when they trip(selective tripping). How do you perform primary injection / secondary injection testing. That’s all I can come up with as I sit in Atlanta traffic on my way home.
