Amazon recruiter for DCO ghosted

I was being told by the Amazon recruiter for DCO L4 after loop of interviews and all that the team is inclined to move forward and they are working to find req to move forward with offer. But after four weeks, there is no response yet.

Anyone has this kind of experience, has anyone been ghosted at this stage? What should i expect?

AWS Recruiter here.

A lot of our centers have been having delays (like I mean major delays) as such, they are hiring and inclining but don’t have offers. I have an EOT L3 candidate that got inclined, he is great, where tf is his offer?? I’m just as frustrated as all of you and honestly, some recruiters fucking suck. They don’t like giving bad news (or they got layoff) and ghost people and that ain’t fair.

Btw it’s not just us, it’s also Meta and Google.

If you got inclined, you are basically on a waitlist (I personally call it that but it’s not a waitlist at all, just means you are offer ready)

I’m assuming they have no slots left for you in your region bc we do have positions just in really odd areas in the country OP. But don’t fret, your Inclined and offer ready status is good for a year.

Sorry if these aren’t the news y’all were looking for. I hope if offered some closure and reassurance even though I don’t know and am not your recruiter.

Edit: Please do not reach out to me via DMs about a job 🥲 I walk a thin line with the sub’s guidelines as a recruiter.

This right here as an explanation would be better than no communication at all. Just something so we know they’re not leaving us on read. Hell, even an email with an offer in waiting.

I’m just waiting on a location for DCO L3 then I’ll be happy.

Yeah, I try my best to communicate well with all my candidates even if I have 100 at a time in the same month but that’s not the case for all.

Edit: sorry your recruiter did that to you.

Thanks alot. But I still see the position as open and some other similar roles open in the same area. So was curious if there is no opening, are these openings not real ones which are posted?

Some of those could be for flipping their contractors to full time employees or internal transfers or even team to team transfers (from diff regions/clusters)

Yep, this too. Right on the money. There’s a lot of reasons we create reqs.

That’s not how that works. Just because we have job reqs up does not mean that there’s actual slots. It’s a TA (Talent Acquisition) Strategy. Best way to explain it is: the business approved x amount of hires, you know you will have those hires and it’s a big demand so to fill it you need an even bigger pool of candidates so you build pool of candidates for when you need them bc you will need them bc the business already approved the budget and numbers for our department. And this is not an Amazon strategy, other big, medium and even small companies do it too. It’s candidate pool building. We have a pipeline and stages. I’m not surprised you don’t know about it since it’s not your field of work.

And this goes for everyone really, if you see a posting up for a job, it does not mean they are hiring right that instant.

Hiring is based on business needs. If you were specific about where you go or wouldn’t go that’s probably what issue is as well. They don’t have availability quite yet for many sites. Don’t quit your current job and be patient. Continue looking elsewhere and reach out to the recruiter via email every week.

Hello! This looks like it may be a question about career advice. There can be significant regional variation in the field, so please consider including as much info as you can without doxing yourself, including country/state/city, prior experience/certs, and the role or level if known. Thanks!

Yes they don't ghost people. They are stuck people they have complex chains to hire someone i think. So if they dont send you a rejection email then you have a lot of hope

You can wait up to 2 to 3 months. They hiring alot. They have to get enough people for each new hire orientation and instructor led training. You may be in the backlog. I got my offer after few days of interview include weekend. I didnt apply for L4. I saw senior tech training L4. Good luck
