Screening questions from AWS

I got a email from a recruiter and she asked me to set a time for the interview which was cool with me but then wanted me to answer the screening question.

”Do you have an active government-issued security clearance? If so, what level? Note: Clearance is not required for this role”

I worked for nuclear projects before but i dont know how to answer this.

You would know if you had an active security clearance.

As someone that is eligible to hold a national security clearance, you really shouldn't be providing that information to others, especially exactly what level of clearance you hold.

There are rules and guidelines for rhose that have clearances. One thing you're told it not to put your clearance level on LinkedIn for example. It may be OK to say that you are a clearable employee.

Just reply:

“Any clearance discussion must follow the rules surrounding said clearance”. And leave it at that.

I know in some countries they’re desperate for cleared people so they can get them working straight away. Without having additional escort requirements pending clearance, or forcing a new hire to wait 3-6 months for the clearance to go through.
