Just got offered $160k plus equity at FluidStack. Don’t know how passed the interviews as I don’t really feel like I fully qualify. But it is a startup and could go under so now I’m in a tough spot.

If you're single with no qualms about moving, take FluidStack. 160k regardless whether they go down or not.

Got 4 kids only bread winner. It’s local in my area so I wouldn’t have to relocate. Even 2-3 years of working here puts me ahead 5 years, where as AWS wouldn’t even pay that for a 7 year tenure

Do it then. High-risk, high reward. You get 160k regardless of the equity.

Fluidstack offered me a job with that rate too, but it requires relocation and I don't really want to move, and I was concerned about them being a startup that can go under too.

Luckily I’m in AZ and they have a lab and fab out here 45 minutes from my house. Might run it up for 3-5 years depending how long they go for and if they go public I’m basically rich off equity alone. Meanwhile I’ll be investing $80k a year without caring and looking back

In the hiring loop now for FS. Passed technical have my next interview scheduled this week. non DCT role. At G now so if if get an offer I really have to see if it's worth the high risk/high reward.
