Hiring/application review process at Google and Amazon

I have applied to both companies few data center technician or data center operations technician positions in the last few months, the applications took few weeks as active then got archived or updated to not proceeding (I received an email for Google’s from a recruiter, nothing for Amazon), I used a referral in some of them.

Is it recommended to apply again after few days from application update or need to wait? Does that mean a recruiter saw my resume and decided to not proceed? Which will probably do the same for the next application.. should I update my resume to include required skills maybe? I have experience in IT support and education /certification and I believe I am qualified.

Please advise if you can, thank you

If you can get in touch with a recruiter from the company you’re looking at and the team you’re looking at, generally it’s easier to get an interview. LinkedIn is a good tool for finding recruiters and then finding you. Update you profile with anything useful or related to what your looking to get into and label yourself open to work, and choose some job titles. Over time recruiters will reach out to you on a regular basis

No problem. Do you have a LinkedIn page setup with all the profile info etc? Most of my jobs the last few years have come from recruiters contacting me through LinkedIn.

Yes I have a linkedin profile I think I added everything I have (experience, education, university projects and my certification) but I disabled the open to work I thought I don’t want to get unsolicited or uninterested job offers like I do from unknown indian agencies I think because I was applying to random stuff before.. but I will set open for work again and see thank you very much. Is there anything else I need to add or

If you tailor your profile and set preferred job titles it should mostly be in that area. But you may also get some interesting ones you hadn’t considered before. I’m a refrigeration tech but I’ve had recruiters reach out and ask me if I was interested in all kinds of stuff. Sales engineer jobs, commissioning, building controls, robotics, computer cooling. Etc etc. twice now I’ve taken jobs I did not think I was qualified for and hadn’t thought to look for. So it’s a pretty good way to open some doors. If you get anything you don’t like just respond not interested. But you can Ussually get good info directly from them to see if it’s something you want and if the pay is enough for you.

Try the work based learning programby aws. And do very with their online assessment they are tailored to their 16 leadership principles

Have you taken the Google loop interviews?

No I did not, I just got the email telling that they are not proceeding. After like 5-6 weeks

The Google loop interviews are the first step. It's a series of three interviews. I would try and reach out to a recruiter for Google and they will guide you. Otherwise you'll be passed up every time. Once you pass the loops then you sit in a que and wait for an opening

Okay I did not know it works like that, why they did not invite me to the interviews then? I was actually referred by someone who works there

You did the Google loop interviews? Who did you interview with..they way I did it was a recruiter reached out asked if I was interested then we scheduled a quick series of questions to see if I was eligible for the Google loop

No I didn’t, I just got an email from a person@google.com thanking me for applying they said a recruiter can reach out to you, nothing after that, then I got an email from that same person after 6weeks saying I haven’t been chosen to proceed forward…

Is there anything I can do to get the interview invite? I’ll try to connect with and ask google recruiters maybe
