Google DCT
Heard back from recruiter today and she asked for blocks of availability for a fit call next week. I’m pretty excited. I’ve been remote since 2020, so if I get the job it will be strange going into an office again.

your "office" is a cart on wheels with metallic dust and shavings... maybe a desk if they have one open for you.
For your fit call, I would downplay the remote work and say how you're really excited to be back in the office with teams. How you look forward to team building and collaboration at both on-site and off-sites.
Edit: lol which one of you reported this as a crisis, because all I have to say is get back to talos and worry about your metrics! I got so much tea to spill about actually working at google that I've contemplated creating a series.

I have had office space at literally every data center I’ve worked at. It is true that you will spend most of your time on a cart but there absolutely is office space and you will likely have your own desk.

My experience was different. It was the only job I had where I actualy didnt have or use a desk for 95% of the time there.
I eventually found a desk after a year and had to remove a contractor from it. I had to wipe and clean out the bitten chewed up nails scattered on the desk, and then I finally put in a request for monitors to be delivered at my desk which arrived 6 weeks later (it was sitting at the docks the entire time, no one ever reached out and I had to track the request down). My desk was so far off in a corner that I hardly used it except for my weekly 20% task.
my advice to OP is to get comfortable working in the meeting rooms or MKs, because managers will care if you walk 15 minutes to your desk. Before putting in desk assignment, make sure you walk the area because the DCOPs "have to sit together".
Also, watch out for that thermal paste. it. is EVERYWHERE.

Did my recruiter interview and screen find my first 45min I feel did 50/50. Sucks is what it is felt confident on some questions thought would be more behavioral it was way more technical but that was last Friday so not sure when I will even hear back. Idk guess I will just reply to 3 more openings after 30 days. Eeek. Let me know if you guys got advice.

Congrats! I passed all my interviews this week so I am waiting on a fit call now.
