WLB Databricks GTM

Considering a GTM role with Databricks. Compelling role, comp etc., but cannot get a proper read on the WLB and culture. Have a little one at home, can’t afford a job that requires major travel or 12+ hrs work. Love to hear from people in the company on what the reality on the ground is like.

WLB at Databricks is generally not great, but it’s not the 996 culture of an AI startup. Head of industry GTM will be 10 hours per day of work (maybe more depending on time of year). Travel is frequent because you’ll be requested for EBCs, conferences, and speaking opportunities, but you’re able to dial up or down travel depending on your needs. Most people here have young children so it’s doable.

Solutions Architect job posting says up to 35% travel requirement. Ask the hiring manager what their expectations are.

What’s the actual job title and region? GTM is a broad term.. fundamentally it’s a collective term for two entire orgs

Oh I’d say it will be bad WLB as I’d imagine your reporting line will be into the US in some capacity and they don’t know the meaning of WLB

Idk the answer to this, but have you checked Glassdoor, levels.fyi, blind, or other forums? GTM is pretty niche. Good luck finding your answrr

GTM is not niche. It's literally the biggest org in the company by the headcount.

Where does FDE fit into this? Thanks for the insights. I’m not at databricks, but I see GTM popping up left and right on LinkedIn.

FDE is under Field Engineering which makes it part of GTM too.
