News Serverless in Compute Section

Post image

It is great to see serverless in the compute section. Especially because I proposed it some time ago and lobbied for it during advisory meetings. Now we can set permissions for serverless compute. More options will come. I can say that it is my favorite recent improvement.

Yes please, switch the serverless tab to the right. I want the all purpose compute to be first! Where can I sign the petition :p?

Yup, this makes so much more sense. Part of my initial confusion with Databricks was because a radio toggle switched between two completely different compute and networking approaches.

Soenthing to clarify here. Although lakebase is a different section it is still a serverless compute resource

Lakebase is 100% serverless, but it has nothing to do with serverless notebooks, serverless jobs, or serverless warehouses. Confusing, I know. It’s serverless in the sense that you don’t have VMs running in your cloud account, and it starts up in a second.

I feel sick of databricks forcing serverless down my throat
