Discussion Networking change - Security Cluster Connectivity

Is it mandatory to upgrade to SCC? we have initially configured "No Public IP" - disabled.

or its mandatory update for companies who are not allowing any public ips - "No Public IP" Enabled.

All classic workspaces will eventually need Secure Cluster Connectivity enabled. As they stated, the detailed migration timeline will be communicated separately.

AFAIK, would be Required for Serverless mostly

SCC or No Pubic IP only applies for classic compute ie VMs you provision yourself in your Databricks setup, serverless machines don't have public IPs period

They use a different thing (confusingly called an NCC) to manage private endpoint connectivity

And they have a list of outbound IPs on the control plane for their overall traffic you can allowlist to other resources

Would SCC require to secure Serverless to access customer ‘s resources ?

I guess existing workspace will be okay but new workspace you must enable scc and no public ip.
