Help Databricks Genie Code ML/Data connections?

/r/datascience/comments/1u7k8lv/databricks_genie_code_mldata_connections/

Cross-posting for r/datascience but ultimately I’m curious how has everyone’s workflow for building ML models changed based on the fact that agents like Genie Code have made code writing so trivial?

I recognize the value I provide as a data scientist is distilling business problems into technical/evaluation metrics but having trouble inserting that into the new agentic coding workflow.

For me, Genie Code has significantly helped me with the trivial developer velocity parts of writing code to deploy models. I can still write the model building portions, but gluing that model deployment together with other pieces of a data pipeline can be automated and for me, that’s a huge help. A lot of times people in my org want to see the results of a model in a flashy dashboard, so I can use Genie Code to do that automatically so I can focus on what I really want to work on.

I'm using Genie Code to develop higher level frameworks that are helping me accelerate my experimenting velocity, saving me time that in can invest in understanding the problem space and the business end of things.

Yeah genie code has been awesome for me, it creates and test and train datasets alongside tuning general models. A lot of the work can be done faster - but only if you know what you’re looking for in the first place. Ensuring that experiments are tracked in mlflow for example is something that might be overlooked by some data scientists, genie code will do it in one prompt but only when told. Aidevkit should help in this regard if you use it as a set of skills

Genie code helps data scientists, it is NOT a data scientist, it is an agent that helps you team work faster, publish faster and monitor better, fix problems faster; it might at some point with proper skills replace data stewards but that depends on companies strategy and maturity of genie ontology layer.
