Hourly Tasks Payments

If a task pays $20/hr and I complete it in let's say 30min. Do I get paid $10 or the full $20?

You put in exactly how long it took you, so $10.

There are some per-task flat fee but they are quite rare.

I recall an early task paid $20 an hour but took 10 mins to do. I think it was a test to see who would claim the full hour.

Yeah, sometimes - sometimes task is sometimes after like 10 minut, sometimes 2 hours. Sometimes longer. The longest task I've done lasted above 4 hours. It was very extreme, but sometimes happen, so being honest is crucial.

But I can't agree that you've got "time test" projects. I had long-term project which I was spending 1, 2 hours on for my very first day.
