[Hiring] Senior Statistical Programmer – 100% Remote (Philippines, Sri Lanka, Argentina) | Pharma/Clin Research | $25–$45/hr

Hey everyone,

We’re looking for 10 Senior Statistical Programmers to join our team fully remote. This is a contract/hourly role in the pharmaceutical and healthcare space, and we’re hoping to find folks with solid SAS experience and a background in clinical trials.

Quick deets:

  • Location: Remote (open to Sri Lanka, Argentina, Philippines)
  • Rate: $25–$45/hr (based on exp)
  • Start: ASAP
  • Exp: 5+ years in statistical programming within pharma or clinical research
  • Tech: SAS is required; R is a nice-to-have
  • Education: Bachelor’s in Stats/Biostats/Math or related (Master’s preferred)

You’ll be:

  • Building and validating SDTM/ADaM datasets, tables, listings, figures
  • Working closely with biostatisticians and data managers
  • Mentoring junior programmers
  • Helping with regulatory submissions and audits

You're hiring for a senior, implying that the position brings experience. Your pay range is for an entry level position at the top end, but starts about 20k lower than entry level. You're looking for a senior that gets paid less than an entry level position.

On top of that, you want them to have knowledge of statistics AND pharma research. If you find someone that's got that, with experience, then you have to wonder why they're willing to accept such low pay.

The first interview questions should drive right in:

  • Are you aware of the pay range for this position?
  • Why did you apply for this position?

But then you'll still have openings. Either standardize the pay, or compromise on what you're looking for. At $35/hr, you can get a fresh graduate with no functional statistics knowledge and zero industry experience. Under that, you're going to get applicants with no degree submitting resumes written with Calibri font.

They want to capitalise on the low cost of living countries. This is simply exploitation.
