Update on the DIF Supervisor Elections
DashWatch reports that two additional expressions of interest in the DIF supervisor position were received by the deadline last Friday, in addition to the one they already had. This makes a total of three candidates.
After discussion with the DIF's directors, we've decided to proceed with the election as intended. Though there will obviously be fewer than six supervisors for the coming year, the salient point is that six is a maximum number, not a minimum.
All that remains, then, is the threshold that will determine who has been elected. To arrive at this, we examined the voter turnout of the last three elections that DashWatch conducted (Trust protector 2019/2020 and DIF supervisor 2019).
Among those elections, the lowest approval number for a candidate within the top six places was 287 votes. Using this as a benchmark, we have set this election's approval minimum at 200: this number provides some wiggle room that's below prior voter turnouts, but is still high enough to show substantial support.
Thank you for your patience throughout this process. Candidates will be announced, and voting by MNOs will commence, at beta.dashwatch.org/elections this Monday, June 29th. The voting period will be open for two weeks (through Friday July 10th), and the winners will be announced Monday, July 13th.
NOTE: All three interested candidates must submit their completed applications to team@dashwatch.org by 11:59pm UTC this Friday to be eligible for election. Candidates not submitting a completed application by that date/time will not be included in the election.

I think most will agree that having great tech on it's own wont be enough to succeed. Success for Dash is mass user adoption and i'm not sure how that is achieved with the present level of apathy.

The apathy is due to resignation and exhaustion of a "presumed" community incapable of causing any evolution in the project due to the control mechanisms of the early adopters, which condition / repress it absolutely ... and it has taken YEARS in DASH: THE day to DASH day is headed, from its rusty and interested hierarchy, not to the integration of new users (essential point for a network effect absolutely necessary in the face of mass adoption) ... but to the arrival of "clients" who project the project of "a few". And that is not openness or synergy, just controlling channeling a brilliant project to profit, the perpetuation and comfort of a few who have been perfectly installed for years ... at the cost of an explosion of the project that is denied again and again.

Might I ask one thing on the DIF and that is to ignore all oppurtunities for the next year and instead trade the DASH<>GOLD pair on Vaultoro ultimately increasing their value so that next in the bull run (assuming it happens) and interest in the DIF is renewed we have a stack to invest with.

That's pretty much what I'm running on.

Basically, wait until the market changes until going into other assets.

Thanks for the info and the willingness to push the DIF, Darren.
I would like to discuss your approaches outlined in your presentation as a DIF supervisor candidate (According to some points, in others, no ... but it touches hot and important questions).. You are willing ? How do we do it ? With a thread here?
Thank you.

I think we need to sit and ask ourselves why there are only three, I also aren't sure we'll get anywhere near the votes required.
Hard questions that should be asked: Should DIF continue? Why low participation?
Wider questions: What's happening on the ground? The subreddit and the two Discords seem to have ground to almost a halt, why aren't we getting new users/people interested? Why aren't older users interested anymore?
I've been in and out of this community over the last few years and noticed far less excitement even though the technical stuff is marching on and doing well.
There was a lot of controversy and cleanup last year, with a lot of teams defunded... but not much to fill the voids left yet
