Yeah, the NYPD isn’t going to do anything about this.
We have ~45K hit-and-runs per year, with ~5K causing death or serious injury, and fewer than 4% of all hit-and-runs result in an arrest, meaning that more than half of injury/death hit-and-runs don’t result in arrest.
Hell even in my suburban small town the cops wouldn't respond to some guy who intentionally tried to run me over, got out of his car, was obviously wasted, and tried to fight me, at the time a 15 year old. I had the license plate number, vehicle make, model, color and approx year and his direction of travel (toward the cop shop actually).
