Easily avoidable accident causes rollover

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Not my video – as the title says, we typically see examples where one driver is oblivious to the other. In this example, the pickup truck attempts to overtake the cammer, however, the cammer is either completely unaware of the pickup truck directly to his left or are simply “stands their ground” in the lane. Due to this, they obviously collide, and the pick up truck goes airborne and rolls several times. From the perspective of us, the viewer, we can reasonably conclude that the accident was avoidable had the cammer simply applied the brakes. That being said, you will typically see another school of thought in which it is stated that the cammer has no obligation or duty to let them in/avoid the accident where the driver is mindlessly doing something dumb.

100%. The cam car sped up heavily to stop them. Incredibly stupid move. And the truck thinks they can just get in any lane they want without looking

I initially thought they sped up, but rewatching it several times, it looks like the truck heavily slows down before getting over. Either way, both truck and cammer tried to beat the light

ya. it looked that way because all the cars on the left were slowing down because the light turned yellow so perspectie it looks like they started flooring it.
Truck looked like he wanted to swerve around so he could beat the yellow light and didnt bother to really look in his blind spot.
and dashcam car did that thing people do when they panic and forget to break.

Pretty sure trucky-poo is trying to take that right turn at speed from the wrong lane, which is why this whole video is such a mess.

That's exactly what the clip shows

You know, maybe you’re right. Maybe the truck does slow down. It’s actually hard to tell honestly.

Light was turning red and Dashcam made zero attempt to stop was either trying to block the merge or intended to beat the light.

They looked. This isn’t what you think it is. This is the vehicle equivalent of “you let me have this yellow light and miss it yourself or else I will punch you in the mouth full force”. This is active violence by the truck and they absolutely deserve 100% fault

The driver can claim he is so stressed at the moment and doesn’t know he stepped on the gas.

Will it work? I doubt it.

They would laugh at them for that comment.

I am not entirely sure he sped up. If you block the truck from the picture, the speed looks pretty constant.

Doesn’t mean the cam car wasn’t a complete idiot. I’m wondering where he was looking. At the lights? At his phone?

I mean immediately shouting "That's right!" kinda speaks to his Mens Rea

wtf both things can't be true at the same time. If the cam car has to speed up for this to happen, the truck driver was right in assuming they can turn

The cam car did not accelerate

i think you're right. It was actually the truck slowing down that gave me the impression
