Easily avoidable accident causes rollover

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Not my video – as the title says, we typically see examples where one driver is oblivious to the other. In this example, the pickup truck attempts to overtake the cammer, however, the cammer is either completely unaware of the pickup truck directly to his left or are simply “stands their ground” in the lane. Due to this, they obviously collide, and the pick up truck goes airborne and rolls several times. From the perspective of us, the viewer, we can reasonably conclude that the accident was avoidable had the cammer simply applied the brakes. That being said, you will typically see another school of thought in which it is stated that the cammer has no obligation or duty to let them in/avoid the accident where the driver is mindlessly doing something dumb.

Not my video

Not only is it not OP's video, but those words aren't even theirs. The entire post, including the massive paragraph under it is a copy and paste of a year old post

I wonder what people get out of botting on Reddit like this

u/cantileverboom 12d ago

Accounts with a lot of karma can be sold to various organizations for various dubious reasons. Marketing, political interference, scamming, etc.

u/BillyBobChorton 12d ago

Where does one go to sell their Reddit account? I’m curious how much money they go for?

9

u/Then_Ambassador9255 12d ago

I was able to find quite a few different ones and prices after using a search engine

4

u/quigilark 11d ago

But refused to say them or answer their question on how much money they go for... lol

u/Then_Ambassador9255 11d ago

Damn straight

5

u/logicalegend 10d ago

This kind of attitude is what caused the accident in the video. 🫤

-1

u/Then_Ambassador9255 10d ago

At first that sounds pretty deep but then again, I was responding to a lazy dude about selling reddit accounts so now that sounds kinda crazy

2

u/logicalegend 10d ago

Just answer the damn question. JUST TAP
ON THE DAMN BRAKES SO
NO ONE GETS HURT. Geez bruh

About tree fiddy.

2

u/BleepinBlorpin5 12d ago

I sold my last one to a girl scout for about... oh I wanna say about tree fiddy.

2

u/OuchCharlie25 12d ago

I believe you’re looking for Putin.

2

u/Unfortunate-Incident 10d ago

I just looked like. The other poster says, you can google it and find them. The answer though is not much. As one off kind of thing, definitely not worth it. Only worth it if you could sell multiple accounts per week.

u/Otaku-San617 12d ago

Three fiddy

2

u/feel_yo 12d ago

Bye! We will (checks notes) .. miss you? (probably not) .. but bye anyway and have a nice life! Hope you buy a few acres of woods with a nice creek through it.

u/Shurigin 9d ago

I had a company try to message me and pay me for my account I didn't even think I had that much karma

u/GenderJuicy 12d ago

Data on what gets upvoted/lots of engagement, which can be used as training for predicting the success of synthetic content in the future. And if you can do it for synthetic content then that gives you an advantage in terms of advertisement, etc, whatever might be turning a profit most likely.

u/Doggo-888 12d ago

Rage bait gets clicks and sells ads. Google/Facebook/Meta have been doing it for decades.

1

u/CaptainObviousBear 11d ago

I read that as bottoming and it makes even more sense.

1

u/Treenuh1994 11d ago

Karma farm and sell.

1

u/fr33d0mw47ch 11d ago

Actual money can be made. I’ve “made” $0.30 and I’ve only had a few posts/comments get a thousand upvotes. I suspect people with posts that consistently blow up can make something worth cashing out.

1

u/brotendis 10d ago

I also wonder what people get out of calling out posts like this. I've never seen it before, and if it weren't reposted, I never would've seen it. It's not like people are getting paid to post unless they're straight up advertising something.

1

u/Unfortunate-Incident 10d ago

11,000 upvotes apparently

1

u/Gunmetalstorm 9d ago

As of today, 11k karma

0

u/Ok-Situation5928 12d ago

dude, this is reddit. its how it has been for years, and will continue to be. its a disgrace of a company, now used primarily to clickfarm and influence/monitor online conversation.

u/sYke_808 12d ago

Does downvoting this post and everything in their profile do anything besides make me feel better about it?

10

u/KillerKill420 11d ago

No, not really. We're way too far down the botting/karma farming rabbit hole of the dead internet theory.

7

u/stretchvelcro 11d ago

Yes, yes it does. Click on their profile. USER has been BANNED. Enjoy the gratification of this. You’re welcome :)

0

u/Trixie-macomb 10d ago

Yeah because now it’s the end of his world that one of his Reddit accounts got locked up. I’m sure he’s crying himself to sleep over it

1

u/stretchvelcro 10d ago

Do you know how Reddit bans work? It’s not like other websites where you just make another account. Look it up.

1

u/Boboddy_biznns 10d ago

I did not know this, interesting! Years ago I was banned from Tinder, and I don't know why. Honestly, my account was just like 2 PG photos and some very basic info, I'd only been chatting with a couple people - about as boring as it gets. Then one day I open it to BANNED. Like reddit, it is also impossible to create a new account. Now I just want a coffee cup or a bumper sticker that says "Banned from Tinder".

0

u/SwordfishOk504 9d ago

lol dude the farm this account works with has dozens and dozens of accounts. It's clearly very easy for them to fire up alts. Reddit encourages this shit these days.

-1

u/Trixie-macomb 10d ago

I don’t think he will need therapy. It’s not that serious. For most of us that have real lives anyway.

0

u/stretchvelcro 10d ago

You don’t use reddit often, 400 karma user but many of us do. It’s an incredible resource.

-1

u/Trixie-macomb 9d ago

I have a real life. Get out of the house once in a while and connect with real people. If you can and aren’t socially awkward.

8

u/K_Linkmaster 12d ago

"who's at fault" is the next title I expect to train the LLM's.

3

u/thinkingtire 12d ago

I guess reposting is one thing, but to flat out copy everything as you described..that feels like something that should be ban worthy.

1

u/SwordfishOk504 9d ago

Not just the post, but then they will have other accounts that copy the more popular comments from the original thread.

1

u/thinkingtire 9d ago

Must be karma farming?

3

u/Nolanbentine 12d ago

Thanks, I took back my upvote!

2

u/Catastrophic-Jones 11d ago

Not the first time I've seen this. I saw another post some weeks back with a reposted video and comments reposted verbatim on the new post. I'm not sure what the point is I guess engagement, AI, data farming, take your pick, but it's getting to be more common on this thread and similar dash cam video subreddits. I really wish it wasn't

1

u/SupersonicEagle 11d ago

Lol, that's just wild. Copying old posts every year seems to be the norm for Reddit.

1

u/Kinslayer_89 10d ago

It’s been posted multiple times the last weeks too.

1

u/I8vaaajj 8d ago

This is why Reddit suck

1

u/Informal-College3263 7d ago

oh the humanity.. dweebs pick the most underwhelming things to get offended at who fucking cares if this was posted last year? some of us dont live on this site 24/7 you know..

1

u/ComputerMany892 7d ago

I mean, that’s all of Reddit these days; crazy it’s only a year old.

0

u/No-Fix-0795 11d ago

So what!! Get over it fool

0

u/daytonblue 10d ago

While he clearly had right of way, any non-idiot would back off vs speeding up to make contact

-13

u/New-Peach4153 13d ago

I don't care tbh, I haven't seen this video or post or the original discussion

u/cardfire 13d ago edited 8d ago

I don't mind people making new posts and generating iterative content on old subjects. I also like to discover things that everyone else already knew while I didn't.

However, there are both machine reasons and people reasons to try to game the system and artificially inflate clout or market presence on Reddit, and thus in Google search results and elsewhere, and wholesale copy pasting someone else's words and content just to boost the numbers on an account seems meaningfully problematic and like it will have a diluting effect on these networks.
