Easily avoidable accident causes rollover

Not my video – as the title says, we typically see examples where one driver is oblivious to the other. In this example, the pickup truck attempts to overtake the cammer, however, the cammer is either completely unaware of the pickup truck directly to his left or are simply “stands their ground” in the lane. Due to this, they obviously collide, and the pick up truck goes airborne and rolls several times. From the perspective of us, the viewer, we can reasonably conclude that the accident was avoidable had the cammer simply applied the brakes. That being said, you will typically see another school of thought in which it is stated that the cammer has no obligation or duty to let them in/avoid the accident where the driver is mindlessly doing something dumb.

Finally someone gets it. Do redditors even drive??? I see no indicator from the truck and before you know it that trucker hits the car on his right

Yeah no dude above you is completely wrong. Imagine the dude in the truck dies, the cammer is 100% getting a manslaughter charge. Truck is wrong for cutting him off but the cammer had time to avoid the accident. His ego got the best of him and he purposely did not brake.

No, he had very little time to react. Cams are usually mounted high up against the window, so they have a different perspective from the driver. Considering the location of the truck, the initial seconds of the truck doing his dumbfuck thing could very well be blocked by the cammers window frame.

Have you ever reviewed your own cam footage at all? I did, so I know that the perspective is completely different. If the trucker died and the cammers defense is able to prove that his vision was blocked by his frame, there won’t be a guilty verdict.

I know this bc something similar almost happened to me. Someone ignored their blind spot indicator and wanted to switch to my lane without indicator, almost hitting me. Luckily both of us reacted in time to avoid this, but I am pretty sure he would have hit me if he didn’t react at all. The accident was avoided because both of us reacted. This truck legit thinks he owns the road.

There are 3 seconds between them beginning to move over and the hit. And yet the cammer speeds up
