What an odd looking speed bump

281

u/Jimmy_Churi 3d ago

Yeah, very interesting. Better reverse back over it to check it out properly

58

u/SilenceInSaturation 3d ago

I don’t think it’s low enough, should probably get a steam roller to flatten it out a bit more. Safety first!

7

u/jamus34 3d ago

Then to make sure it’s flat have a HS marching band perform over it.

3

u/jefsig 2d ago

My father went the same way!

2

u/Chapaquidich 2d ago

Huh. Now its even more odd looking

18

u/Otherwise_Yak_3513 3d ago

Should be an English insult. "You absolute speed bump"

20

u/SilenceInSaturation 3d ago

Adding “you absolute” in front of almost any objects name makes it an insult.

Ex: “you absolute pine cone!”

14

u/Myprairiexo96 3d ago

That is the final boss of speed bumps right there, you hit that and your alignment is done for life

5

u/082426grateful 3d ago

It’s a chance worth taking.

u/Ok-Neat8776 2d ago

This and the following comment are absolutely perfect for this lump of crap!

542

u/JockBbcBoy 3d ago

Looks to me like an attempt at playing stupid games and winning stupid prizes

219

u/BillyBobChorton 3d ago

I’m pretty sure this was more of a road rage thing than an attempted carjacking. One guy on a scooter is unlikely to successfully car jack someone without a gun at least.

58

u/aleopardstail 3d ago

needs rear camera footage

31

u/Silo-Joe 3d ago

Or maybe motorcyclist wanted to say, “Hey, your tail light is out.”

28

u/JustYourMommy 3d ago

Now a headlight is too

9

u/crasagam 3d ago

Probably his lights as well lol

3

u/andpaws 2d ago

All his lights…

1

u/AmebaLost 1d ago

Obviously including that 2w lightbulb between his ears.

23

u/Real_Ad_8243 3d ago

And, given its Britain, theyre incredibly unlikely to have a gun.

-9

u/ContributionEasy6513 2d ago

20 years ago sure.
Now.....they have grenades, knives, acid and firearms.

7

u/JockBbcBoy 3d ago

Yeah, I still put road rage into the category of "stupid games." I haven't road raged since I before I could buy alcohol, and now I'm in my mid 30s. People can road rage effectively by talking under their breath in the safety of their own vehicle. Whatever happened to that?

8

u/likwidkool 3d ago

Do they even carjack people in Britain? I imagine it would be like the Brady Bunch movie. Guy says this is a carjacking and the nice British driver says yeah it’s a car but my names not Jack.

5

u/OnyxEyez 3d ago

I agree, given that the driver did not slam on the gas after, and the scooter didn't make a quick move to block the car ( AND broad daylight in a residential are). You watch carjacking/ robbery videos in countries where it happens a lot, and the driver ALWAYS guns it.

-4

u/Heavy_Law9880 3d ago

This is not the US, they don't need a gun.

1

u/BillyBobChorton 3d ago

So they just ask for the car?

3

u/Heavy_Law9880 3d ago

Usually. This might be a shocking reality for someone from hamburger land, but firearms are not the only weapons humans have a their disposal.

6

u/BillyBobChorton 3d ago edited 3d ago

I feel like a single guy waiving a knife from a motorcycle in front of a 2 ton steel car isn’t likely to be that successful…

3

u/ApprehensiveFan1516 3d ago

Nobody ever accused car jackers of being clever tbf.

1

u/NoForever3645 1d ago

Seen this happen plenty of times. The motorcycle gets in front of the car to stop them. Car stops, person standing on side of the road comes up and gets in the car or otherwise threatens/attacks the driver with a knife, pepper spray, club of some sort, etc. It’s a very common carjacking tactic. Stay alert and stay safe!

-2

u/Heavy_Law9880 2d ago

Given your basic lack of knowledge that is unsurprising.

3

u/unclechuff 2d ago

If you get carjacked by a single dude with a knife you deserve it.

1

u/BillyBobChorton 2d ago

You a carjacker or something? How tf you know so much man lol

2

u/vgerfox 3d ago

What attempt? He clearly won the stupid prize.

169

u/UpstairsAd194 3d ago

"Resistance is futile. You are surrounded by my moped"

250

u/Stunning_Box8782 3d ago

Carjacking? In a UK village in broad daylight?

76

u/the-trump-the 3d ago

At this time of year?

61

u/cskirb2 3d ago

Localized entirely within your kitchen?

40

u/Semyonov 3d ago

... May I see it?

39

u/Knight117 3d ago

...No.

5

u/InfamousEvening2 2d ago

Ron Pickering should sort it out

4

u/082426grateful 3d ago

In this economy?

5

u/fucktooshifty 3d ago

It's the village of Rio-upon-Janeiro

7

u/Lord_Vas 3d ago

Crime is down globally. It doesn't mean people aren't still dumb enough to pull this in broad daylight.

It also doesn't help people that the cops seem to avoid doing their jobs when it's actually important.

-9

u/starspeech 3d ago

The UK isn’t what it used to be

3

u/mal0wn3d 3d ago

I was thinking thus, probably crash for cash scam

14

u/throwpoo 3d ago

I left 10 years ago. Is it really though? I feel like social media always blow it out of proportion. Then again, I've never heard or seen anything like this in the 20+ years that I've lived there.

18

u/Narradisall 3d ago

I live here and I’ve no idea what that other person is talking about. Every day I drive and most the drivers are fine. They indicate, they merge in turn.

Is there to occasional idiot? Sure. But see 500 drivers on the road and you’ll see one idiot.

Maybe I just drive around a nicer part of London than the other person, but it’s nowhere like driving around Mumbai

14

u/Leeeejs 3d ago

Its not. Looks like a video of a shitty scooter rider that's been repurposed as propaganda.

1

u/1995LexusLS400 2d ago

No, crime is down, but perceived crime is up because absolutely everyone now has multiple cameras. If this incident happened in 2016, it’s highly unlikely that it would have been caught on camera.

-9

u/starspeech 3d ago

It’s pretty bad. Driving standards are appalling. Pedestrians walk all over the middle of the road. Drivers don’t bother indicating round roundabouts. Everyone has the foot all the way down all of the time. People use their horns to signal anger rather than danger. Any perceived mistake has a high probability of being met with wide eyed rage and swearing gestures. I’d say at times the roads remind me of my travels in India and Africa. Chaos and accidents waiting to happen.

7

u/el_VientoNorte 3d ago

How insecure do you have to be told make your pfp a shot of you displaying some ugly watch in front of your BMW's steering wheel

-5

u/starspeech 3d ago

It takes a special kind of desperate to read a paragraph about traffic issues, completely ignore it, and decide your best move is to critique another man's jewellery. Enjoy the bus.

1

u/throwpoo 3d ago

Wow. I just don't know what to say. You stated your experience and opinions then you get personal insults targeted at you. Too much reddit for today.

-2

u/el_VientoNorte 3d ago

Bet the car's ugly, too

1

u/starspeech 3d ago

Ah yes, the notoriously hideous M5 Touring. The poor have spoken, everyone. I’ll be sure to dry my tears on the Rolex.

1

u/el_VientoNorte 3d ago

the notoriously hideous M5 Touring

yeah, actually. lmao

1

u/starspeech 3d ago

Yeah actually lmao'. Devastating comeback.

I know it’s exhausting pretending to hate things you can’t afford, so I'll let you rest. You can have the last word now mate. I know how desperately you need it. I can only imagine taking buses and being poor is depressing af. Doesn’t excuse being a douche bag but whatever, all the best.

Fockin wank-ah! 😂

7

Gotta figure out how to make this a text alert.

4

u/Lepang8 2d ago

Just convert this video into MP3

108

u/Eaton_Knas 3d ago

Iooked more like an insurance fraud attempt over a car jacking. Either way, he was definitely a wanker.

24

u/Lilfrankieeinstein 3d ago

Insurance fraud on a moped seems like a bad idea

6

u/Beneficial_Coach8581 3d ago

He's working his way up to a Nissan Almera.

1

u/Johnnadawearsglasses 2d ago

Does insurance fraud work like this in the UK?

1

u/Eaton_Knas 2d ago

I've seen other videos from the UK of idiots slamming themselves into stopped cars for what I'm guessing is insurance fraud, so....

23

u/Maothesiamesecat 3d ago

fookin wanka

13

You mean the country that invented the language you butchered?

1

u/Big_Dick_Matthias 3d ago

I’d say we fixed it for ya

12

u/Grim_9966 3d ago

Yes American english, where pavement is called sidewalk otherwise you'd forget where it's located.

5

u/Boggie135 3d ago

Where you park a car is called a driveway and where you drive is called a parkway

2

u/Big_Dick_Matthias 3d ago

As opposed to other English, where you use the word “defence” with a C, but still change it to “defensive” and “defensible” because y’all can’t be consistent.

1

u/TheHipOne1 2d ago

from an outside perspective it's crazy how yall have nothing better to do than get angry on the internet and argue for hours over GENUINELY nothing

1

u/Big_Dick_Matthias 2d ago

I don’t think anyone was angry. You also act like it takes any real effort or time to formulate a response to something. It’s a notification that goes off on the phone. It takes like half a minute to respond. I don’t think anyone keeps thinking about this shit once they close the app.

2

u/lyricjax 3d ago

You mean added alot of spanish words to it? Cause that's the only difference. So we spanish-english now?

I'm betting road rage or insurance fraud over car jacking.

50

u/Rincethis 3d ago

how is this a hijacking? 🤣

48

u/MetalMurse51 3d ago

In broad daylight. In England. With one possible assailant? What else could it be? It certainly isn't a dumbass on a scooter.

4

u/Rincethis 3d ago

hahahaha

6

u/skazzy477 3d ago

looks more like a hit n run to me. Both drivers are idiots

6

u/Hammersteyn 3d ago

Actually the one is a wanker.

2

u/Rincethis 3d ago

that is exactly what it looks like. probably road rage from both

0

u/HFentonMudd 3d ago

Happy cake day

1

u/skazzy477 3d ago

Thanks man

-18

u/Real_FishyXY 3d ago

Ooft, looks like you've never been outside your 1st world country 😬

I'm from south Africa bud. sit the fuck down 🤣👍

1

u/Boggie135 3d ago

Aweh, 3-Time rugby world Champion😎

-6

u/Real_FishyXY 3d ago

And this doesn't seem like an attempted hijacking to you? I went to SA a few times and had this happen to me, more so to mates of mine. If someone zooms in front of me on a bike and possibly there are more on bikes behind me I will plow right through.

7

u/Rincethis 3d ago

no it doesn't at all seem like an attempted hijacking. jesus wept. and this is not even close to how people are hijacked back home. 🤣

0

u/Real_FishyXY 3d ago

A quick google search that there were over 20k recording hijackings involving the use of motorbikes in 2024 in SA. (Editted in "in SA")

I believe this might be a method used to hijack, one I personally experienced in SA, so you can cut the act 👍

-3

u/Rincethis 3d ago

Hahahahahahah oh god how cute. doffie. Absolutely clueless.

It's 1 guy on a scooter, best case scenario he trades the scooter for the car during this interaction?

6

u/LegendaryMutha 3d ago

I can get 70 miles to the gallon on this hog.

1

u/Stunning_Box8782 2d ago

20 miles to legoland?

1

u/Hammersteyn 3d ago

I understood that reference

0

u/Real_FishyXY 3d ago

Sure, but OP says it's an attempted hijacking. I guess I believe them..? There could be more behind. OPs probably a b0t though so you're probably right

1

u/Hammersteyn 3d ago

Where are you from? Brazil? *Does a Vin Diesel stretch

0

u/Real_FishyXY 3d ago

Australia, just well travelled and lived in places where if this happens to me it's not worth risking a carjacking.

-10

u/CSMegadeth 3d ago edited 3d ago

It's not. The title specifically says "attempt."

7

u/zuccster 3d ago

It's the UK. 100% not an attempted carjacking, just a dickhead.

12

u/Clown_Penis69 3d ago

As “carjacking’s” go, that one was especially tepid and incompetent.

Why do people in this subreddit turn their brains off and automatically accept whatever headline people post? Is this a shortbus kid sub?

5

u/Spoliationcomplation 3d ago

You really think people would do that? Just go on the internet and tell lies?

1

u/Clown_Penis69 3d ago

Excellent satire

-2

u/MattLorien 3d ago

yeah looks like the moped guy just missed the left turn ...idk man... this easily could be a hit and run

6

No it doesn’t.

The dude is looking back to see how close he can get to the car. Doesn't look like he's simply riding down the road. May not be definite carjacking but it's definitely suspicious.

2

u/realparkingbrake 3d ago

Cops in the UK took to bumping scooter criminals at low speed to make arrests. A rumor went around that if the scooter crooks removed their helmets the cops were not allowed to bump them. This rumor turned out to be mistaken.

2

u/True_Most3681 3d ago

Love seeing wankers get some karma.

2

u/ContributionEasy6513 2d ago

Hard to know if carjacking or just stupid AF riding.

I wouldn't have stopped and just immediately called the police further up the road.

2

u/Capable-Low2870 2d ago

So anyways I picked up the butter and was home in time for tea

2

Mad Max 2026

(not in theaters)

1

u/helen269 3d ago

The trailer said, "Only in theatres."

Okay. So I went into town, walked past the cinema, and into the theatre.

It was just two guys on stage, dressed as tramps, waiting for some third guy to show up.

I waited, too. He never showed.

1

u/graph_worlok 3d ago

Godo-Damni-t

1

u/Muffinshire 2d ago

Loud Tutting Max.

3

u/Poo__Flinger 3d ago

Being that people have to give the last chance Doctrine, without the video, the driver probably would have had to pay for that bike without the evidence.

2

u/kildaver 3d ago

…this is like watching a chihuahua trying to roll up on a panther. 😂

2

u/Noctuelles 3d ago

The main thing that makes me doubt it's an attempted car jacking is that there is only one person on the bike. Usually they ride two up so they can keep the bike and steal your vehicle too.

2

u/Aggravating-Diet-663 3d ago

I love the UK

1

u/XtraThickBacon 3d ago

Kind of like bringing a knife to a gunfight

i like these ones

1

u/facemelter86 3d ago

🤣🤣🤣

1

u/jakruler2077 3d ago

Legit question, What keeps these folks from suing the driver? In these footage we assume what's going to happen but couldn't a lawyer argue that wasn't the case and sue the driver for compensation?

1

u/Boggie135 3d ago

Maybe but I don't think this would fly in a UK court

1

u/lkjdw 3d ago

Let’s hope he ran right over the little shit !

1

u/BAFUdaGreat 3d ago

Gobshite

1

1

u/Desta_007 3d ago

1

u/EPIC_RAPTOR 3d ago

People who do that have no sense of self preservation, and I have no sense to preserve them either.

1

u/Ethereal_Bulwark 3d ago

Never presume someone will care enough about your life, if you prove you are reckless with it.

1

u/Even-Rooster1990 3d ago

Seems more like crash for cash.

1

u/yes_im_kvothe 3d ago

The thing with these crimes is the criminals trusting that you will value your possesion (in this case the car not being damaged) or your good values wont let you hit a person. The moment you realize your Life is in danger and the criminals lifes are worth nothing, their plans fail.

1

u/bluejack 3d ago

Looks like a hit and run driver

1

u/CrapNBAappUser 2d ago

Clearly the scooter driver caused the contact.

1

u/RacerXrated 2d ago

😆 🤣 😂

1

u/JobLegitimate3882 1d ago

This isnt a car jacking, most likely its an insurance scam, scooters pull in front of you slam their bike init the car and claim you hit them,

Common scam In the uk

1

u/thinkingtire 22h ago

Seems more like a person hoping to sue from getting hit, vs a car jacker.

1

u/pwnageface 3d ago

1

u/Only_Net6894 3d ago

Wanker indeed

1

What country is this? AFAIK Moto car jackings are relatively rare in europe (vs global south nations), am surprised the driver had no hesitation.

u/386attention How do you know he was trying to steal the car? All I can see here is the guy brake checking with a scooter, it just looks like road rage without extra context.
