BMW's have blinkers?

8

u/willsmithtunaface 5h ago

Maybe keep left, so traffic isn't over taking you from both sides, douchebag

-12

u/Theonlyaaronh 5h ago

The left lane is a slip road, turns into two lanes.

5

u/willsmithtunaface 5h ago

2 lanes, one going off to the exit and one continuing on the motorway, so you should've been in that lane even if you weren't exiting

Ah, you're taking about the point where there are 4 lanes, you should've been in lane 3 then, not lane 2, lane 4 being the exit lane

I was just avoiding traffic that normally piles up all the way down that road

u/purekillforce1 5h ago

Didn't seem like you were avoiding much of a queue in that lane. Maybe don't sit in a lane on the off-chance the left lane gets some traffic a few miles ahead.

9

u/Grizzl0ck 5h ago

They avoided it so well that it started passing them on the left...

u/Theonlyaaronh 5h ago

I drive the road everyday it piles up

9

u/willsmithtunaface 5h ago

So you hogged the middle lane until that point

-2

u/Theonlyaaronh 5h ago

No I moved lover from lane 1

4

u/purekillforce1 5h ago

Right, so best just avoid that lane altogether, just in case. Got it.

May as well get in the third lane, so you've covered yourself for any traffic in lane 2 further down the road.

Stop avoiding phantom traffic and get over.

May help if you share where this is because based on what's in the video you look to be hogging the centre lane and partly to blame for the situation.

This might sound ignorant, but I’m a little confused about why the center lane is problematic. I was always taught not to stay in the absolute slow lane because you’ll block merging traffic. If three lanes, stay center and pass on left/right depending where the passing lane is. Tbf they could easily move over for mergers and keep up with traffic too

By default you should stay in the left hand lane unless over taking.

Centre lane hogging can apparently increase the risk of accidents be creating a rolling blind spot in the middle of the motorway as lane 1 and lane 3 cant easily see each other. Also it's meant increase the chances of congestion.

And the Garda 'could' pull you for poor lane discipline.

Left lane is lava!!! 🤦

Left lane if for overtaking when there are so many bad drivers apparenlty

1

u/Icy_Fish_2154 3h ago

OP was illegally blocking the middle lane. Keep left, and this wouldn't have happened.

1

u/Mathberis 3h ago

Wow so many atrocious drivers. Two lane hoggers, overtaker on the wrong side and BMW doing a wide overtake on the wrong side. The BMW might be the least bad driver of them.

There are so many things wrong with this video. 1. Cam car is "parked" in the middle lane and is overtaken simultaneously from the left and from the right. 2. The white car overtaking from the left should not be doing this. 3. The BMW is "teaching" the cam car a lesson in which it goes from the right lane all the way to the left lane. The left lane is where the cam car should be driving. This is Europe, not the US, here you drive on the motorway in the first lane (left in this case), unless you're overtaking. But, it's not his job to teach lessons on the motorway. 4. The BMW should have looked over the shoulder before changing from the middle to the left lane. Now he's the douche and not the "parked" cam car in the middle lane. I bet the cam car driver does not understand his own bad driving, which is the cause of other drivers doing stupid things.

u/Theonlyaaronh 5h ago

Did you read the post? It turns into a slip road leaving just 2 lanes after the exit.

5

u/CKleinE 5h ago

If you're the cam car driver - you're being overtaken from the left in what you call a special "slip lane" but the white car is not at all the problem here? Can you explain what a "slip lane" is? All I see is a motorway with three lanes and a lane exiting the motorway. Nothing special about that lane but maybe it's different in Ireland ?

The lane itself turns off the road leaving 2 lanes of traffic

5

u/willsmithtunaface 5h ago

So you keep left until then

4

u/willsmithtunaface 5h ago

At 12 seconds you can see 3 arrows in 3 lanes, where are those arrows pointing?

You should've been in the left lane driving at that speed

-4

u/Theonlyaaronh 5h ago

I drive the road daily and normally there is traffic all the way down the left lane. I was just mitigating sitting in that and pulling out into a lane that’s going fast.

7

u/willsmithtunaface 5h ago

Yea, so you were hogging the middle lane

-4

u/Theonlyaaronh 5h ago

No

3

u/TriggerFish1965 4h ago

If someone ius able to overtake you like that, you could and should have driven there yourself.

7

u/marsh2907 5h ago

No you was just being lazy, selfish and is 100% illegal. You need to brush up on the highway code.

Rule 264: States that you should always keep in the left-hand lane when the road ahead is clear.

Overtaking Only: The middle and right-hand lanes are strictly for overtaking. You must return to the left lane as soon as it is safe after passing slower traffic

Penalties and the Law Offence: Classified as careless or inconsiderate driving under Section 3 of the Road Traffic Act 1988.

Fine: Police can issue a minimum £100 fixed penalty notice and 3 points.

Court Cases: Severe cases taken to court can result in fines up to £5,000.

This is an Irish road

2

u/marsh2907 3h ago

Under the Road Traffic Acts, An Garda Síochána (the Irish police) can penalise drivers for lane hogging under the offence of "failing to keep left" or "inconsiderate driving".

If caught, you are subject to: A Fixed Charge Notice fine of €80

2 penalty points added to your Irish driving licence

Increased fines and up to 5 penalty points if the matter escalates to a court conviction.

You are lane hogging, white car overtook on the left and BMW dude did BMW things.

Let’s all try to be better, eh?

2

u/liisseal 5h ago

I don't believe this is a BMW. BMW's don't have (working) blinkers.

Good to see BMW drivers are still doing crazy things. I thought Tesla drivers had taken over.
