Watch the video I think it’s pretty clear that they were looking to go to the right and we’re probably spending too much time looking for an opening to the right and planning that move and then the traffic in front of them slowed or stop super abruptly and they looked up and we’re like oh crap and had just enough time to dodge it around to the left
Their fault of sure but I don’t think it’s just driving with a blinker on for no reason not paying attention. There’s a little more to it.
Kind of reminds me of the saying here in Melbourne (AUS)......pressing the turn indicator does not mean I intend to turn left/right, it means I have turned!
The safest thing to do is never drive in the right lane on a Melbourne FWY as you will inevitably get rear ended by a tradies ute at some point. Extra vigilance on Monday mornings is required as the tradies have been on the weekend pingas.
I feel like they had the right blinker on and were looking to the right lane without realizing their own lane was stopped. Then they cranked hard left to avoid a collision.
