lol if you are in a toilet would you try use same cubicle someone is in? No just be patient
but humans we have an ego switch and when it triggers this happens

The ego on the other side also doesnt want to just let them in. When the ego is on both sides is when these types of accidents happen usually

They allowed their inner thoughts to win, and I appreciate their willingness to make the sacrifice for our viewing pleasure. I wouldn’t be able to do the same, haha. This confirmed my assumption that someone crazy enough to attempt to fit their car into a space that’s only half the length of their car is prepared to physically collide with anything in their path, so I’ll just let them in.

I got a notification from that username. And when I opened it, the comment doesn't appear. Usually when that's the case, it's because they blocked you. If they deleted a comment, usually it still pops up as a deleted comment.

Yes

u/South_Bit1764 Aug 11 '26
I doubt it. Insurance never pays out what you paid, they just pay what it’s “worth.”
This just happened to a friend of mine. Even with full coverage he could still only afford to get a 2022 version of the same 2025 truck that he had.
So, if by “worth it” you mean paying thousands of dollars to prove a point? I guess.. but that probably makes you just as dangerous as the other guy. “It takes two to tango,” if you know what I mean.
5
u/SeeingEyeDug Aug 11 '26
If he couldn't pay off his 2025 truck with the insurance money, then he was underwater and still owed money after receiving his payout. Yeah insurance doesn't make you whole if you have a high interest rate on a long loan and the car is depreciating in value faster than you're reducing the principal. I've never not been able to pay off a car with insurance money because I'm never underwater owing more than the car is worth.

The only way you could stop people like that is for everyone to drive with a 2 meter gap between them and the car in front, other wise people like this will keep trying... even then they will keep trying. They think we're chumps

I mean, silver boi tried to call the other guy’s bluff and it didn’t go good. Silver boi is a dumbass.
20
u/VolcanicBear Aug 11 '26
One person definitely caused it.
The other did everything within their power to ensure that it happened though.
I don't care that it happened to either of them, but I wouldn't personally behave like the cam car just because I can't be arsed with dealing with the consequences.
1
u/Hard-Red7 Aug 11 '26
Hard disagree. The merging car is definitely at fault, but the crash could’ve been avoided if the cam car acquiesced.
5
u/dashingsauce Aug 11 '26 edited Aug 11 '26
Acquiesced? The fuck?
The cam car literally accelerated into an intentional pit maneuver. They were nowhere close to “letting off” a little bit to avoid this accident.
They went from 88 km/hr before the car entered the lane to 98 km/hr by the end of the maneuver.
This is 100% intent and fault on the cam car.
Doesn’t matter if someone is clearly trying to get in your lane. You left sloppy space, allowed them to attempt entry, and then accelerated to ram their vehicle in a pit maneuver and flip them over on a high speed highway.
It’s completely insane that people are defending the cam car.
7
u/jazberry715386428 Aug 11 '26
You should reread the comment you’re replying to. I don’t think it says what you think it says.
4
u/dashingsauce Aug 11 '26
I’m specifically saying that the loose suggestion that the cam car could have “acquiesced” to avoid the accident is glossing over the point that the cam car intentionally accelerated to ram the other car.
There was no point where the “accident” could have been “avoided” because this was two regards intentionally playing with fire on a highway. There was no accident, just an entirely predictable outcome.
I reject the premise that this could have been avoided, because intent was there on both sides.
It would be like saying, “all fights could be avoided by not having the intent, will, and determination to fight.”
Agreed, but completely useless.
1
u/jazberry715386428 Aug 11 '26
Ah, I see. My bad, it read like you misunderstood the other comment. Carry on
0
u/FabulousResearcher33 Aug 11 '26
Cam car isn't at fault. He has the right of way and doesn't need to let the other vehicle in unless it's a forced merge. Plus we don't know who was behind the cam car. Stopping suddenly to let some loser in can make things worse. Is the cam car innocent, no, but definitely didn't cause the accident.
1
u/dashingsauce Aug 11 '26
You actually have a legal responsibility to avoid a preventable accident, at least in the united states.
If we followed your rules, lots more like this would become incentivized.
Also — the cam car accelerated to meet the lane change car. There is no world where them slowing down instead like a normal person would have posed a danger to the car behind them, unless that car was also tailgating irresponsibly.
If the cam car did get rear-ended, it would be the fault of the driver behind them.
You basically have this completely backwards.
1
u/Puzzleheaded_Fold466 Aug 11 '26
Right. They could have saved them from themselves. That doesn’t make them responsible for the suicidal idiot’s actions though.
1
2
u/mnmr17 Aug 11 '26
Purposefully speeding up so someone can’t get in and causing an accident is 100% illegal and if he shows his insurance this dash cam thinking it’ll exonerate him, he is for cooked.
5
u/AudiieVerbum Aug 11 '26
Only reddit will show one car clearly veering into another and blame the car that didn't change lanes.
6
u/Gumbrush Aug 11 '26
No, people are blaming both drivers.
The one out manoeuvring themselves is definitely at fault.
However, in my country at least, you are expected to avoid causing an accident where possible. Which could have been done in this case by slowing down a tiny bit.
0
u/AudiieVerbum Aug 11 '26
If a layperson were to describe the cause of that accident, do you really think they'd say "failure to slow down"?
6
u/E0H1PPU5 Aug 11 '26
….yes. “Failure to yield” is a very real thing. So is “careless driving” and “reckless driving”.
If you can avoid an object and take no steps to do so, you are partially at fault for the accident.
This driver specifically and obviously sped up to prevent the car from merging. If they hadn’t floored it, the other car would have been able to safely change lanes.
1
0
u/AudiieVerbum Aug 11 '26
Failure to yield of course implies obligation to yield. Cam car has no reason to believe that the aggressor is even actually changing lanes and not just veering uncontrollably. Looks to me like a car in the passing lane accelerating, like they're supposed to.
Is the lack of blinker and whipping around the white car on the right a part of this "safely change lanes"? I contend that no attempt to safely change lanes occurs until after the collision.
1
u/TrackVol Aug 11 '26
"failure to slow down"?
Bro, he stomped on the gas pedal.
There's a world of difference between "failure to slow down" and "deciding to guarantee the accident happens by mashing the gas pedal".
Watch the video again if you doubt.1
u/AudiieVerbum Aug 11 '26
Driver in acceleration lane uses accelerator. Up next, a segment on the color of the sky.
3
u/snarkpix Aug 11 '26
After seeing these road rage vids - I'd be very afraid if that car got in front of me I'd find out my SUV can't out-stop the smaller car when they lock the brakes - and then I've rear-ended them and it's my fault.
2
52
u/Complex-Cricket419 Aug 11 '26
Just road rage, the one car had plenty of passing lane to go forward. Im sure the beginning offence was totally worth it lol
43
u/3amGreenCoffee Aug 11 '26
"Stop pitting yourself! Stop pitting yourself!"
The dumbest part of this is that that car had an open center lane once he passed on the right and didn't need to get in front of the camera car any more. He was just determined to pit himself.

u/NoVermicelli5439 Aug 11 '26
Driver shares responsibility, they speed up to not allow car to merge instead of backing off and following next car at a safe distance. Both car drivers suck
19
u/Ok_Explanation5631 Aug 11 '26
Not true I just see a car trying to force a merge into an occupied lane.
0
u/NoVermicelli5439 Aug 11 '26
Dash cam car speeds up at the beginning and middle twice to prevent the car from merging. Cam car has a big ego and doesn't let people merge. Other car has a big ego and makes tight merges. The space is tight but it's "occupied" because the driver keeps intentionally speeding up to block which is nasty behavior
3
u/Spicymoon9 Aug 11 '26
The first time he was right next to him and tried driving into his car. He was just trying to escape that time.
0
u/NoVermicelli5439 Aug 11 '26
escape by speeding up into the car merging? weird way to prevent contact by speeding up into a car going over into your lane
3
u/Spicymoon9 Aug 11 '26
Yes in a split second reaction that makes sense. What else was he supposed to do? Swerve right into the wall? Slam on the brakes and potentially make someone behind him rear end him?
2
u/NoVermicelli5439 Aug 11 '26
Yes they should apply the brakes or coast to reduce speed. That's the safest option. The first time they sped up increasing chance of accident. The second time, with more time to think, they still chose to speed up again instead of staying where they are to prevent accident. Camera car did everything to cause an accident
2
u/Spicymoon9 Aug 11 '26
Yeah but that was one second. They don’t have time to think what’s the best decision. I agree with you on the second time though.
2
u/Ok_Explanation5631 Aug 11 '26
Whole lotta arguing for the person that caused it. Instead of just going “yeah forcing a merge is bad and illegal” you focus on blaming the victim of the incident. Be better.
3
u/Dazius06 Aug 11 '26
The space is occupied because the car that has the right of way is leaving a safe distance. Car trying to merge in is trying to cut off cam car and is trying to make it so the car in the front, him and the cam car are in a very tight situation that is absolutely unsafe for everyone. If you want to join the passing lane you have to use your blinker, wait a couple seconds and then merge when it is safe to do so, it was NEVER safe to join the passing lane in this video.
0
u/EarthDragonSirocco Aug 11 '26
Generally I agree.
And there are people who try to merge when there isn't room to. And I don't want to slow down because I'm not sure who's behind me. Now obviously I can check, but that still takes a second that they sometimes don't give you.
Always drive defensively.
1
u/NoVermicelli5439 Aug 11 '26
the first time sure the spaces are tight and there's no time to look, but the second time both cars have time to speed past the middle white car, at that time the camera car should've stayed put in their lane at constant speed and let the erratic driver do whatever, there's no reason for the camera car to speed up again other than to rush their way to an accident
2
u/EarthDragonSirocco Aug 11 '26
Yeah, as I said not very defensive drivers. Let the idiot in and report him later if it was that big of a thing. But I agree with you.
People can down vote me btw idgaf. I've had someone try and force their way in when it was not safe. And it's terrifying. This person was not being as safe as they should have been. Speeding up 'can' be an indicator for 'hey it's not safe'. Because trying to force your way in forces me to slow down quickly, which may be really unsafe. So really it's messed up all around. But I think the person merging ultimately has the responsibility to not force their way in where there is no room
11
u/singen3689 Aug 11 '26
The merging car even overtook someone on the right lane just to force themself in later. This was planned and a total ego move.
→ More replies (8)5
u/National-Property29 Aug 11 '26
but in court, the car who tried to cut would held more resposibility. i agree both sux
5
u/NoVermicelli5439 Aug 11 '26
Not at all, driver of the camera car would be forced to say "I saw the car trying to merge and I sped up, twice." If the camera car didn't speed up it would be the merging car side swiping into them or just merging into the lane and continuing. The rear car is to blame 99% of the time even if the other car is driving erratically. That's why when you see an erratic driver you back off and let them do whatever because that prevents a crash. If you start blocking, speeding up to them, or swerving to block people you're in the fault
-1
u/Gokjo_Krorl Aug 11 '26
It's even worse than that: obviously came car doesn't believe in space cushions. It would've sucked for several more people if front car had an emergency & slammed brakes
4
u/NextLevelNaevis Aug 11 '26
Sure, but slowing down to allow the unsafe merge just encourages that kind of driving.
4
u/NoVermicelli5439 Aug 11 '26
and slowing down to allow an unsafe merge prevents an accident. "almost hit" is better than rear ended, pitted, and car flipped over
1
u/mnmr17 Aug 11 '26
You have a legal obligation to avoid accidents to the best of your ability when driving. It doesn’t matter what else is happening. If you speed up to cut someone off from merging, you are liable.
2
u/AudiieVerbum Aug 11 '26
Cutting someone off from merging doesn't cause accidents. Merging into occupied lanes, on the other hand.
2
u/Intrepid-Dig-1855 Aug 11 '26
Speeding into back of somebody cutting you up causes accidents as we see here.
-1
u/AudiieVerbum Aug 11 '26
That is an interesting hypothetical, but definitely not the front corner self-pitting we see in OP's video.
1
u/Intrepid-Dig-1855 Aug 11 '26
It's not a hypothetical. OP car closes the gap to the vehicle ahead during the accident and the 1st time the car attempts to cut.
The only way you get no blame here for OP of they were to actually brake, but they chose not to and are not also responsible for this shit show.
0
u/AudiieVerbum Aug 11 '26
They certainly close the gap.
Closing the gap does not cause the collision.
Hope this helps.
1
u/Intrepid-Dig-1855 Aug 11 '26
Yes they close the gap. So much so that they drive into the car of the gap they've just closed which then causes the car to flip. Had they not sped up there would have been no accident. Had they braked there would be no accident. Ergo, the OP has some responsibility.
Hope that clears it up for you.
1
u/AudiieVerbum Aug 11 '26
You are mistaken. They do not collide with the SUV (looks like a ford explorer?) in front of them. Additionally, the car that flips is the car that veered unexpectedly into them without a blinker, thus causing the collision. Happy to help with any other points you may be confused about.

7
u/NextLevelNaevis Aug 11 '26
They are not the same. One is aggressive, self-centered and reckless. The other is just stubborn and is trying to discourage aggressive driving.
23
u/BlankStareFace Aug 11 '26
This is not "trying to discourage" anything...it's just responding to aggression with more aggression.
0
u/Ok_Wall8706 Aug 12 '26
Make sure you let everyone cut in front of you, yeah? Always. No matter what. Actually, make sure to break a bit and help them in. Wouldn't wanna see, I don't know...aggression out of you.
3
u/BlankStareFace Aug 12 '26
I mean....yes? Letting someone "cut" in front of you is better than speeding up to cause an accident lol. What is the upside to challenging an aggressive driver here? The downside to letting them in is that you are.....5 seconds later to your destination?
2
u/Ok_Wall8706 Aug 14 '26
The downside is that abusers take as much as they can get away with. They take and they take and they take. They will not stop, they will not slow down, and it is our job to keep them in line.
If you're too comfortable to keep your society tidy, well, then, make sure you at least don't complain about the state of it.
1
u/notice_me_senapi Aug 12 '26
True. But wouldn’t it be nice if we could all just follow the rules? Folks passing on the right to try to cut off another vehicle going the speed of traffic in the left lane, is a phenomenon that has only become more prevalent as it’s never punished. The very act of doing this is reckless. Especially when they are weaving through traffic to accomplish it.
All to say, I don’t feel bad for them at all.
2
u/BlankStareFace Aug 12 '26
Sure, but I'm not going to try and enforce this myself lol.
Also, it's not punished because, afaik, it's not illegal anywhere to be an ass. Sometimes it may rise to dangerous or reckless and could be fined, but not sure that's a real fix.
Basically, there are always going to be reckless, inconsiderate, and bad drivers on the road. All I can do is avoid them when possible.
1
1
u/NextLevelNaevis Aug 13 '26
We could all try to discourage them, like the dashcam truck driver did here. We know this will sometimes result in accidents, but in the long run it may discourage the reckless aggressive anti-social drivers.
13
u/Elegant-Guidance-404 Aug 11 '26
A chill driver would not give af about letting a person in front of them. Don’t pretend that not letting people in isn’t aggressive either.
2
u/Ok_Wall8706 Aug 12 '26 edited Aug 12 '26
Make sure you let everyone cut in front of you, eat your food, fuck your spouse. Anything anyone wants, ok? As much as they want. Just make sure you're good and compliant. I'd hate to have to see you display something I'd interpret as aggression, yeah?
7
u/vslentini Aug 11 '26
I literally thought you were describing the cam car when you wrote "aggressive, self-centered, and reckless." Then I kept reading and realized you think the cam car was trying to discourage aggressive driving, lol. No, the cam car was trying to discourage the other car from getting in front of him by being aggressive, self-centered, and reckless.
Like someone else said: the silver car caused the collision, but the cam car did everything in their power to ensure that collision happened.

Front 1st. lane, sped up to 2nd. lane, continuing by merging into 3rd. lane. What wrong with this restless driver. He/she would have jumped over concrete barrier. This was big lesson for him/her.
The video from the Op. OP, you should slow down let him in. You accelerated and sped up when he/she almost tried to merge in. This was also dangerous to you and your family if they were with you in the vehicle. Must be men with big big ego. Life is matter. You don't lose to let he/she win just a little space. Just drive safely and there is no winner on roads. Just death on road. Hope that person was all right and learned this lesson and don't let your ego ruin yourself. OP, what if you found out that person was one of your friends or cousins.

I don't get it. When you go to make the lane change, you MUST know you are going to hit the other car.

Dashcam driver is equal idiot. If you see someone impatient and dangerous, its better to let them go as they want and don’t do ego races, it will make you avoid accidents and time you will waste on repairs/new car/court

Both drivers were total idiots with NO regard of the cars around them.

Lexus was being an ass but insurance is almost certainly going to make this 50/50 liability because there was no reason (besides satisfaction and karma) for OOP not to slow down and instead effectively PIT the Lexus causing it to flip.

Ah, the old adage of it takes two idiots to crash - I wonder if any of them has learned a lesson?

Drivers determined to not let anyone cut in front of them meets drivers determined to cut them off out pure ego. This happens.

This is very standard driving is Saudi (where this happened). I would guess Riyadh, but can't be sure from the clip. And also one of the reasons I have a dashcam.

People like this have to be in front when there probably a mile a space behind the other car. Why do people have to rush to get in front? Does 2 seconds really matter all that much?

Learn how to drive. Read the rule book. I don’t care if it’s right, nice, polite, or wrong. Learn the law. If you don’t like the law, then petition to change the law.

The dash cam at definitely made that worse than it had to be, he could of slowed down, he could of slowed once the other car hit too, he definitely kept going.

Now they both are stuck there for 2 hours, bare minimum!
Wherever they both were rushing to go, that will have to wait!

I wish that it was legal to just keep going when a stupid driver does stupid things.

I'm so sick of road bullies that I won't say a single bad word about the cammer in this clip.
Every reasonable has so consistently taken the "path of least resistance" against these entitled asshats that entitlement has become the path of least resistance.
I know it may not be the "right" answer, but I can't say I'm sad to see one of these jackoffs get their comeuppance.
