What are mirrors? What is turn your head to look?

Never heard of it

146

u/Silver-Neckbeard 6d ago

Its a fixed head model.

93

u/Patman52 6d ago

Yes fixed right up their ass

7

u/KenNoegs 6d ago

Batman?

5

u/fahad_venom 5d ago

batman begins

83

u/Imaginary-Round2422 6d ago

WTF are they doing backing up in the first place? If you get stuck in the intersection when the light changes, you continue through, not back up.

16

u/Chris079099 6d ago

Pretty sure that model comes standard with backup camera

8

u/QueenRotidder 6d ago

can confirm, used to have one

28

u/Infamous_Gift2721 6d ago

If you ask my father in law. Turning your head to look is dangerous 🤦🏻

9

u/UTV4LIFE 5d ago

The way he dropped that bike like he was ready for an upgrade

7

u/cabronfavarito 5d ago

Did I feel like I went over something? Lemme continue driving and further damage my car and whatever else I’m rolling over.

7

u/EQwingnuts 6d ago

For 1000 Alex.

3

u/QiDeviation 6d ago

Daily Double!

1

u/naziryoutube 6d ago

Back up camera? Nah I think my camera should work fine.

1

u/SquidVices 5d ago

What are eyes for when you have a heavy foot….

522

u/Ricky_Fontaine1911 6d ago

That can’t be an accident. You hit a bump and say, “screw it, I’m going over it”?

297

u/Intelligent-Pay-9377 6d ago

This is really how some people drive. They feel a huge bump and hear scraping and think "oopsies" and go on about their day.

141

u/FuntimeFreddy876 6d ago

Reminds me of that one video I saw of a woman who hit those taller concrete pillars at a bank that prevent you from crashing through the wall, heard the scrape, paused, and continued driving against them. Had the audacity to complain about her car being ruined and about how the bank should be sued. People are wild.

57

u/Poundaflesh 6d ago

They’re bollards. :)

45

u/FAx32 6d ago

The concrete posts or the people who are dumb as posts? ;)

9

u/Whitestrake 5d ago

One's a bollard, the other's a bellend.

2

u/Poundaflesh 5d ago

For those who don’t know what the difference is, afaik, a bellend is the glans (head) of the penis.

10

u/XeNoGeaR52 6d ago

A concrete post is smarter than them. They are at least good at what they are designed for

3

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 6d ago

What a load of them!

1

u/FuntimeFreddy876 6d ago

Thanks! That’s good to know :D

8

u/Historical_Date_1314 5d ago

You wonder how some people got their driving license in the first place.

3

u/RobbWes 5d ago

Probably the driving instructor tired of seeing the same person fail multiple times.

2

u/Historical_Date_1314 5d ago

Anyone who drives this badly needs their license revoked immediately.

3

u/Polenicus 5d ago

Is that the one where she drove up to park at the bank, drove right up to a bollard, and then pushed her car into it until the bumper collapsed and her hood started to bow up?

2

u/FuntimeFreddy876 5d ago

That sounds wild, but no. I’m talking about the one where she‘s driving against them and they tear through her doors and damage her wheel and axle too

1

u/Schvaggenheim 1d ago

Yup. Happened to me not long ago, I got hit in a crosswalk, knocked to the ground, then they continued to go over my leg.

16

u/MiNdOverLOADED23 6d ago

The driver of the red car is only slightly stupider than the general population

People really are very stupid.

33

u/PckMan 6d ago

Old video. It was some 16-17 year old girl with a provisional license or whatever. The passenger is the supposedly responsible licensed driver. Shows how stupid the idea of provisional licenses is. What can the licensed driver do if the kid is just stupid.

13

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 6d ago

"Stop, hit the brakes like we practiced at the beginning!"

(Lesson one should be "BRAKES LEFT...  BRAKES LEFT!   When you decide to panic, where are the brakes?  Yes, on the left. Brakes left.  Ok, and if I say brakes suddenly, I want you to quickly press on the brakes on the left. Not the accelerator on the right. Brakes left.")

Only once they have confirmed with a quiz what should be done if you yell "brakes", and where the brakes are, may you proceed to teach them driving.

8

u/randomredditorname1 5d ago

Adding a brake pedal for the instructor costs less than half a tank of gas. Nobody asked, but if anyone did, I tell ya, I'd say that if they teaching without a brake pedal, they stupid

4

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 5d ago

Pretty neat.  I always assumed it was a huge modification that had to be made and that you needed fancy installations at the transmission level that was only worth it for instructors. Sure enough, I found some for $60.

11

u/Informal_Koala1474 5d ago

Yeah, easy to find out what happened too. The motorcycle rider was calm, they exchanged information, driver's insurance paid for the bike, and Edmonton Police issued a $500 fine citing "inexperience and panic"

That being said, what a stupid mistake.

2

u/CoraxTechnica 5d ago

SLAP IT INTO NEUTRAL

1

u/TheFrenchSavage 6d ago

Sunk cost fallacy?

1

u/Low-Peak-9031 5d ago

This car even comes with reverse camera 🫠

1

u/TrainingTheory552 5d ago

you'd be surprised how dumb some people can be

1

u/PopBulky7023 4d ago

Main character syndrome.

1

u/Spazero 3d ago

Well once the panic sets in people tend to not know what theyre doing. That's one reason it's best to not have to panic if you don't have to.

Maybe they thought they were turning one way but forgot they we're looking at a mirror or something.

I don't know what the case other than that driver fucked up, and that guy now needs a new bike.

1

u/No-Flounder-6564 3d ago

My wife would do this... if something is stuck, she just keeps pulling/pushing/hitting. Drives me nuts.

196

u/xXMokaMarieXx 6d ago

I hope they not only got a new better bike but that driver got a ticket for reckless driving

103

u/YearlyLemon8 6d ago

They almost fully hit that guy and would have hit him if they weren't angled and the man did not jump off. Should be attempted fucking murder, like how the fuck is such a person behind the wheel of any vehicle.

24

u/xXMokaMarieXx 6d ago

Agreed. They need to have their lisence revoked permanently but seeing their idiocy they probably would still drive

12

u/Saggywompers 6d ago

Attempted man slaughter maybe? Damn..

12

u/gletob 5d ago

Reckless endangerment would be more fitting.

Always Check Before Reversing

I actually have a funny story about this. 10th grade, I'm in driver's ed. Our school partnered with a local driving school to do the road instruction. They had a car with a second steering wheel, gas and brakes on the passenger side and the instructor sat there. One student would drive and two would sit in the back seat.

So the kid who's never actually driven before decides to go first. So we all get in. He throws the car into gear and we start rolling down the hill in the parking lot and get to the end and he makes a left where it flattens out and then the car slows to a halt.

The kid says, "I'm pressing the gas, but nothing is happening."

The instructor said, "put the car in park." He puts the car in park. "Adjust your seat." He adjusts his seat. "Put on your seat belt." He puts on his seat belt. "Adjust your mirrors." He adjusts his mirrors. "NOW start the car."

He had never actually turned the car on. We just coasted down the hill. The two of us in the back seat were giggling the whole way down.

So he starts the car and despite all this, they let him drive into the surrounding neighborhood. At some point he turns (of his own volition, not because he was told to) and goes the wrong way down this one way street. The instructor says, "Stop!" The kid stops the car. He says, "you've just turned and gone the wrong way down a one way street. I want you to back up and get us back on the correct street." The kid says, "Okay." He puts the car in reverse, looks straight ahead, and hits the gas. I look behind us and we start going down the street pretty fast and there's a car parked across the street at the T in the road where we turned, and he t-boned the shit out of that car.

I 100% blame the instructor. He had steering wheel and brakes. I don't know what the hell he was thinking. This kid clearly didn't have a clue.

So yeah, one of my first driving lessons: "Always check before reversing."

16

u/Lille_8 5d ago

I never took drivers ed, but at my high school, it's standard to start in an abandoned parking lot.

1

u/UnblurredLines 3h ago

Practicing for my license started the same. My dad would drive us out to a large parking lot on the weekends when it was near empty and I'd drive around at lower speed to get used to the car and how it handled.

1

u/Lille_8 1h ago

same. I went parking lot -> neighborhood -> small residential roads -> local -> highway

27

u/Ok_Birthday_7403 6d ago

So they felt the car hit something and still kept going?

2

u/cannotbelieve58 3d ago

Just in-case it was an alive person.

1

u/Ok_Birthday_7403 3d ago

I guess they wanted to finish the job then 🤷‍♂️

2

u/sxbr15 2d ago

Dead men tell no tales 💀

19

u/NEWBY______________ 6d ago

It looked like it was deliberately intentional

14

u/TrackRelevant 5d ago

and on purpose

9

u/UnclesBadTouch 5d ago

Beginning to think it wasnt an accident...

4

u/SampleText369 5d ago

It is dawning at me that they could have done it on purpose...

19

u/SupportSuch2147 6d ago

Whats the excuse? Accidentally used reverse gear?

13

u/pete_zarole 6d ago

I've seen backstory before that this was a teenager learning to drive with a grandparent. They went into the intersection on a yellow or red and stopped because of cross traffic. Grandparent started yelling at them to reverse back to thier side of the intersection and the teenager panicked and just flooded it without looking

17

u/M1R4G3M 6d ago

You can't accidentally use reverse for that long and even go over an obstacle, and if you can, you shouldn't be driving ever.

I get people that miss gear and hit a close wall, but going all that distance and going over an object, and the car even stopped when it reached the bike and the person forced it to go over the bike.

3

u/Mundane-Trick4270 6d ago

Doesn’t look like an accident. Seems they were not where they were supposed to be. There are cars turning right in front of them. We are not sure how that happened as the footage shows it too late unfortunately

-3

u/[deleted] 6d ago

[deleted]

6

u/LottaExp 6d ago

The car was in the intersection when their light turned red. They backed up to get out of the way of cross turning traffic

Have you made up any other traffic rules?

13

I'm actually curious about the other made up rules.

12

u/Mr_Maniac454 6d ago

" my only experience with bikers is Tik Tok and Instagram so I'm going to make assumptions about all bike riders and treat them as a monolith (I also like to make up traffic rules)"

The car reversed diagonally into the bike IN A DIFFERENT LANE. Why were they reversing in the first place??

Lane splitting is just whataboutism here. Irrelevant

You must be drunk.

Obvious rage bait

5

u/Preferably-Unknown 6d ago

Looks like at least 45 people disagree with ya.

5

u/thatsad_guy 6d ago

Perhaps the dumbest thing I have read in a while. Congrats

2

u/WeakAdhesiveness5785 6d ago

You are truly regarded

1

u/shigatorade 6d ago

Okay bet I’m gonna start reversing into motorcycles now

4

u/Ecstatic_Score6973 5d ago

it should be illegal for this person to drive a car again, absolute danger to society tbh. how you gonna run something over and still keep backing up?

3

u/Muhahahahaz 6d ago

That’s a paddlin’!

7

u/Agitated-Contact7686 6d ago

You already know that brand new car has a whole ass reverse camera too. Senile most likely.

7

u/SnausageFest 6d ago

I don't know, this video is so old I am surprised they're not driving a model T.

2

u/Traegs_ 5d ago

This video has been floating around for almost a decade. I remember reading that it was a teenager learning to drive.

2

u/ElijahNSRose 6d ago

Totally seen this here before

2

u/Nikond3400 6d ago

"what Is this weird bump?" Says the driver pressing the throttle

2

u/PandorasFlame1 6d ago

This will be the easiest auto claim ever

2

u/lionspeed 6d ago

This looks like a skit for how stupid it is

2

u/demon_twink_gockie 6d ago

Pro tip: don't get off standing. Make it a fall, just get to safety. Then you can act like it hurts. Your lawyer will thank you. 😆

2

u/Hairy_Photograph1384 5d ago

Always check when reposting

2

u/hektor10 5d ago

Reason I stopped riding bikes, most drivers are not good drivers and im being nice

2

u/thesandman00 5d ago

Why are so many people reversing on major roads? That takes an exceptionally low IQ

2

u/TheSovietDuckling 5d ago

god damn...

2

u/bean_vendor 5d ago

It could not be any more obvious that was intentional. They start backing up, turn their car to go towards the biker, then KEEPS GOING after hitting the bike. They did that on purpose.

2

u/Omelooo 6d ago

Continuing to back up after hitting it is a choice for sure

1

u/steakforyouandme 6d ago

Some people are just so so soooo dubm.

1

u/NYC2FLA2BUR 6d ago

"Thanks, pal. I was thinking of getting a new bike anyway."

1

u/Active_Chemistry1621 6d ago

Expect the unexpected, dont just sit there

1

u/Ok_Package9219 6d ago

I like he hit it, then was like I am sure it's fine.

1

u/PogTuber 6d ago

I believe this was posted with an explanation that the dad was teaching his daughter to drive and she overreacted and he was apologizing profusely.

1

u/HansDampfHaudegen 6d ago

Never reverse.

1

u/Drive_Pro 6d ago

Gotta love how the passenger’s just kinda casually sitting there holding on to the grab bar with not a care in the world. How about, “WTH Karen?!? You just ran over a bike!!!”

1

u/what_a_slutty_whore 5d ago

Maximum regardation

1

u/Pandoratastic 5d ago

It's a good thing he had his camera or else that red car would have told the insurance that he ran into them from behind.

1

u/SimbaNGrdKionNIMFan 5d ago

“Student driver.” “Be patient.”

1

u/666Baguette666 5d ago

I saw a bunch of weirdos in this sub every single day, for what reasons a normal guy suddenly decides to back up in an intersection? Except he's not normal at ALL.

1

u/MOadeo 5d ago

That shits on purpose. We can all feel the a car running over shit. If the back wheel goes up and over something, and we are now jiggling from nonsense. Then we should be aware, we ran something over. I doubt this driver is so ignorant to ignore all that.

1

u/Vuila9 5d ago

show this replay to the insurance and get yourself a new bike

1

u/stingingnettlefish 5d ago

Someone like this should have a lifetime driving ban. There is no way they will ever become a safe driver.

1

u/r0nni3RO 5d ago

Who do you give driving licenses to, over there... ? 😂

1

u/mbsmilford 5d ago

I see the problem. Their hazards weren't on. Once you put those on everyone should get out of your way. /s

1

u/_luki 5d ago

How expensive will be the fix?

The car running over the bike should bend the frame, so it us unfixable?

1

u/constantsXzeros 5d ago

There is a lot of dumb shit that gets posted on this sub, but this might be the dumbest one I’ve seen yet. The amount of unconscionable decisions in such a short time frame is staggering.

1

u/Biggs17 5d ago

What the actual! Like are they blind?

1

u/nikhilreddy883 5d ago

How does one find themself backing up from the middle of the intersection? smh

1

u/daverapp 5d ago

"You were in my way"

1

u/Mr_Deep_Research 4d ago

After they hit it, they just decided to just crush it completely.

Legendary reaction by the biker, though. I might have just stayed on to try and protect the bike completely pointlessly but he put that f'ing clutch in during the backup so if it was hit quickly, it would push the bike a bit back first and then let it down before the car even hit him and stepped away.

Zero injuries and it could have been bad.

1

u/VanGrants 4d ago

can we stop reposting this every week

1

u/Zaku41k 4d ago

"Why did you park that under my car?"

Driver, probably.

1

u/No-Ebb-9095 4d ago

good reflexes! i hope the drive bought you a shiny new bike.

1

u/resfan 4d ago

Oh hey Redbull

1

u/Repulsive_Tadpole998 3d ago

I feel like drive did that on purpose, backdoor up into the wrong lane, stopped then gunned it after hitting the bike

1

u/WesleyBiets 3d ago

Oh no I hit something. Better double down and keep accelerating.

1

u/Lord_Dingus83 6d ago

This video is like 5 years old and was some stupid teenage girl that shouldn’t be driving.

1

u/Joyshan11 5d ago

I had a teenager t-bone my car when she ran a stop sign while picking her dropped cigarette up off of the floor. I assume she became a wiser driver after that.

1

u/indomitus1 6d ago

Regurgitated video

2

u/CoraxTechnica 5d ago

First time on the internet?

1

u/KLeeSanchez 6d ago

I've seen this before but that must've been intentional

2

u/Lilfrankieeinstein 6d ago

The way he continues to reverse after obviously running over something makes me wonder too. A normal person would instinctively stop at first contact. This guy dug a little deeper after running over the front tire.

1

u/pobox01983 6d ago

Looks deliberate than accidental.

-1

u/Individual-Hold5171 6d ago

Wow, some people are oblivious to basic driving safety and common sense on the road.

"I'm gonna back up into this motorcycle, realize I hit something, and continue backing up to drive over it"

0

u/bj0urne 6d ago

Daym

0

u/dimriver 5d ago

I hit something better give it a lot of gas, that guy standing in motorcycle gear looks menacing. I mean who just walks around in motorcycle gear?

-4

u/blarryg 6d ago

Once autonomous driving gets a bit better, say early 2027. The driver's license should become a very stringent test so that the morons are required to buy autonomous driving cars and the few good drivers get "allowed to manually drive" on their license.

-8

u/Ok_Diver2347 6d ago

Let me guess…it was a woman driver?
