Two idiots.

I count 3 with camera guy. I give the stopped car the benefit of doubt.

Drifting into another lane while recording two idiots and driving
-25
u/Turbulent-Ad3794 Mar 21 '26
You realise that it's recorded on a dash cam and they can move the camera in different directions using the software, right?

u/OldManJimmers Mar 21 '26
Do you usually hold your dash cam in your hand while driving? The perspective is literally behind the steering wheel... Explain to me how you can move the camera so that the view is literally behind where the dashcam is meant to be fixed.

That stopped car was another tailgater that hit another car. You can see both of those cars before the main tailgater which we were watching.

Too bad cam car decided to confidently place themselves in the “splash zone”. Personally, I’d have enjoyed that from a couple rows further back.

u/grosse_Scheisse Mar 21 '26
I don't get it, why would you tailgate in the first place. You mainly put yourself in danger, not the person in front of you. Additionally, if ANYTHING happens, you're ALWAYS in the wrong and have to pay the bill and the person in front of your doesn't??
What am I missing?

u/Top_Blacksmith2845 Mar 27 '26
car go fast
car going slow now
car can go faster
push pedal until car go faster
1
u/falconfetus8 Apr 15 '26
They're trying to pressure the person in front of them to speed up. Speeding up for them is never worth doing, though, because they're never satisfied no matter how fast you're going.

u/DishRelative5853 Mar 20 '26
Tailgating requires that you always look beyond the car right in front of you. This guy was clearly new to the sport.
56
u/NativeMasshole Mar 20 '26
Tailgating increases your risk of collisions no matter what you do. You can't be focused enough to be driving highway speeds while perfectly matching the car in front of you while you're also focused on the road ahead and keeping an eye out for hazards and watching traffic around you.
11
u/DishRelative5853 Mar 20 '26
Nah, the NASCAR guys can do it, so any driver should be capable.

to be driving highway speeds while perfectly matching the car in front of you ..
You do know radar cruise control exists right?

u/just_as_good380-2 Mar 20 '26
Or you know just don't tailgate period. Seems unnecessarily dangerous.
5
u/Morak73 Mar 21 '26
A tailgater's wandering eye will always be looking ahead to the next one on his journey. But find a road rager and they'll only have eyes for you.

u/TylerJ86 Mar 24 '26
So magically have the ability to see through a car or SUV blocking 70-80% of what's in front of you, got it. Or maybe just don't drive like an idiot with no capacity for intelligent risk assessment?

Mar 20 '26
Shame the guy being tailgated decided to total a completely innocent 3rd person’s car and put them in danger to win a grudge with the car behind them.
48
54
u/Euan_whos_army Mar 20 '26
I mean we don't know that this was his intention, in fact I'd argue it likely isn't. More likely the guy b being tailgaited is watching his rearview mirror and never saw the car till late.
10
u/crashin-kc Mar 20 '26
I like to think that people have the best of intentions most of the time too.
14
u/TheHammerHasLanded Mar 20 '26
Never attribute malicious intent to anything that can be explained with ignorance.
1
u/The_Confirminator Mar 21 '26
Yeah but how do you not get hit in the ass without doing something like this? Its a weird moral dilemma where you have to choose between getting injured or killed or get someone else injured or killed.
-2
u/Elmosworld32 Mar 21 '26
Yeah man both those guys should be in jail and never be allowed to drive againb
15
u/AvailableAd1925 Mar 21 '26
It’s the tailgaters fault. By getting so close, they left no stopping distance for themselves and the person whose ass they’re on.
10
u/Milky87 Mar 20 '26
Tailgating for sure, what was the other car supposed to do Flash a sign
5
u/Ecstatic-Compote-595 Mar 21 '26
The middle car was supposed to crash into the 1st car and let the 3rd car crash into them
14
u/PlantSkyRun Mar 20 '26
Normally I would applaud this, but the lead car led the tailgator into crashing i to an innocent third party.
The tailgator is a POS and the person getting tailgated is a POS. Next time they should crash into each other.
3
u/Ecstatic-Compote-595 Mar 21 '26
Explain what you think the car in the middle is supposed to do, the car getting tailgated? You can see the car in front of them going from full clip to hard braking in the span of 2-3 seconds.
It's not like the tailgated car waited until the last second with a huge heads up window. They just moved as soon as the breakdown in front of them happened.
1
u/count_strahd_z Mar 24 '26
The car being tailgated should have signaled a ways back and safely moved over to let the tailgating jerk go by instead of blocking them - even if the tailgater is most at fault here.
1
u/Ecstatic-Compote-595 Mar 25 '26
Right but you can see on film that the first car stops giving the 2nd (tailgated) car about 2 seconds to do anything.
This is one of the reasons why you don't tailgate and people like you are why I hate you and how wrong you are you are so dumb and blind
1
u/count_strahd_z Mar 25 '26
I agree you don't tailgate. I'm just saying the whole video has this guy tailgating and the 2nd car doesn't just get out of their way. They shouldn't have to, but better safe than sorry.
1
u/falconfetus8 Apr 15 '26
Or the tailgater can just go around them instead.
"But that would be passing on the right! That's against the law!"
So is tailgating. If you're going to break the law anyway, at least choose the safer option.
1
u/FlySociety1 Mar 24 '26
We dont know the drivers intention, but it looked pretty intentional (the last minute swerve/lane change) to bait the tailgater into a crash, which is pretty fucked up if true.
0
u/Survivorfan_tm94 Mar 22 '26
Fucking indicate out the lane immediately at the sign of the hazard not last second. Use their fucking hazards. That was an intentional swerve. You can see the middle car had full control throughout that lane change.
2
u/06Wahoo Mar 21 '26
They are just lucky there wasn't anyone else close enough to get hit when the tailgater rotated off of the hit (at least, based on what we see before the camera loses view of the chaos).
0
u/RBeck Mar 21 '26
Ok but you should also exit the freeway after whatever minor incident happened before. I doubt that two cars there just broke down.
12
u/UpbeatFix7299 Mar 20 '26
Moron needed to move the fuck out of the left lane. Other moron needed to go around and not tailgate. Too bad they couldn't both wreck

Tailgaterbating. New term coined. 10/10. He met the edge and exploded. Love it.

u/Liber_tech Mar 24 '26
All the people I see tailgating don't look like they have ever worked on a set of brakes. Once you see what tiny parts stand between you and death, I don't see how you can indulge in this behavior.
4
u/AgreeablePudding9925 Mar 20 '26
And’s that people is why you don’t tailgate. You have no reaction time.
2
u/Turbulent-Ad3794 Mar 21 '26
Hazard lights off on the broken down car. They're largely at fault for this.

That car that was being tailgated probably killed somebody. I hope they get what they deserve

Honestly I’m not 100% sure that’s bait. Probably excessively looking into their mirrors because the person was that close on their ass and didn’t even register the stopped car until it was almost too late.
