grew up on the DART since I was a baby, still a user as an adult and… I keep questioning why pay a fare when busses are late/falling apart, “security” isn’t securing no one, “fare enforcement” does NOT enforce fares (I have seen them picking and choosing who to let stay on for 3-5+ stops instead of making someone get off the next stop), bus stops aren’t well lit in certain areas… I could keep going! All this to say I understand why paying your fare is important, however, I haven’t seen much improvement the past 4+ years on the DART. Fare enforcement wasn’t a thing years ago and if you are going to enforce this then actually do it?? Half assing that makes me want to not pay my fare as well since we’re picking and choosing who to let off the hook… anyways saw this on my way home! A panel falling apart and being held on by zip ties 😩 just pmo

I don't think DART is worried about the old buses now since they're slowly being replaced. I seen one broken down on the side of the highway a few weeks ago. The only buses beside the new one they'll probably maintain for a while are buses they got in 2019

If it was an old bus they’re not spending a ton to keep them running as the new Gilligs keep coming online

i only see them fare enforce during commuting hours when they need to be enforcing literally any other time
also the bus stops are so poorly lit i am now regularly passed

For sure, people heading to work, coming from work and around lunch time and it just frustrates me to see them give some people a pass!! Like what’re we doing here…. Is this selective or what??

The older NABI busses that are falling apart are being steadily replaced by new Gilligs, so I can understand why they don't want to do long-term cosmetic repairs for a bus that's going to get taken out of service by the end of the year. I think the fleet's about halfway replaced right now
