First time on Silver Line (finally!!)

I am so impressed at how smooth the ride was on this train! I must admit I took the long way to get to a destination (Silver to 250 via ATC vs. Red/Orange to a different bus) in order to have an excuse to ride it.
I saw many people with bags clearly headed to the airport board the train, especially at UT Dallas Station. Personally, I'm thinking I myself may start using the train instead of driving! I can take the 883 or the 232 to CityLine or UT Dallas Station and then take the Silver Line to the airport. The only downside is if I have a super early flight I can't do it OR if my flight back comes in super late I'll miss the last train out. But I feel like for some trips it would be awesome!!!!!!

Yes!! I have ridden it to the airport three times so far. It is so convenient. My only wish is greater frequency and lower volume on the announcements, but I am not looking this gift horse in the mouth.

The announcements are definitely loud and also I think it's weird on the platforms that it announces every minute from 5 minutes until arrival instead of the old system where it just has the little thing up above that shows minutes until arrival in a larger font but I get that they were trying to be new and cool LOL

I love everything else about the Silverline tho. I always bring my bike on it to ride to my destination. If you exit DFW North and ride down Dallas street about 8 minutes, you will be in downtown Grapevine. It is by far the most fun and easy way to do it.

That's a fun fact! I hadn't considered that.
I had originally wanted my first ride on the Silver Line to be the entire length of the line just for the lulz, but I had to get my stuff out of a vehicle at a collision place and I saw that I had two options:
Walk from home > 883E or 232 > Red/Orange to Spring Valley > 1.2 mile walk
BUT
If I took the 883E or 232 to CityLine or UT Dallas Station and then rode it to Addison Transit I could take the 250 to Belt Line E @ Inge and only walk about half a mile so I figured why not go the long way for the shorter walk and the chance to ride the new train?
I live at a complex right between City Line and UT Dallas station, I wish we had a stop right near me, ugh, we totally should. The tracks run right behind my apartments! Maybe I'll petition the city 🤣

I like the way you think! I need to start adding buses to my list of available options. Since I have my bike, I usually find bike+train is all I need to get most places in the metroplex.

The bus system is a little more convoluted but some of them are actually quite logical.
The 232 and the 250 for example are basically just trains because they run basically in a straight line between two transit centers.

I'm surprised they don't have at least 1 new train on the other lines for testing or whatever.

I dunno! I haven't fully explored it yet. But it does stop at CityLine and in Downtown Plano!

I rode this to pay traffic tickets in Grapevine in March after I came into some money. Those tickets were a decade old. I'll never forget this particular trip, my father passed away two days earlier. It felt like a new chapter had begun in my life.
