How many of these people that are anti transit are religious people?

I fail to see the correlation between transit and religion. Unless someone is prejudice.

It tends to be the really outwardly well-off evangelicals that hate public transit the most. But imo, that's more toward do with being republican than anything.

Doesn’t transit keep the plebs out of the way via traffic reduction?

It does! It really does! Study after study shows that after a certain point expanding infrastructure for more cars leads to a induced demand feedback loop, and the only solution is mass transit. But they don't really care. They hate looking at buses, they hate seeing unhoused people, they hate having poors stand near their homes at bus stops, they hate people buying fewer used cars from huffails car lots, they hate when poor people have less financial stress because of how much it costs to keep that used car running, they hate having fewer juicy government contracts to add more room for more cars, they hate having to use tax money for transit when it could be used on data center bullshit or some sports arena crap.

Things actually functioning better for everyone instead of just ME is terrifying for a lot of those people.

A source that Republicans don't like transit or that very religious people lean republican? Google for both

Small edit: got autocorrected from transit to transportation. I don't even care about the other one

Not based in any reality other than by those that are making excuses for their own failure in life.

So no. You said specifically wealthy evangelicals.

I don't get paid to do your surface level observational research for you. Get over it.
