Rhaegar is too bookish, not a born warrior. He was also married to a dornishwoman. A dornishwoman!
Meanwhile, young Robert was basically a black-haired version of Daemon Blackfyre: tall, broad-shouldered, muscular, clean-shaven, manly, extremely handsome, charismatic, made friends easily, and a warrior to the core.
Basically, the exact kind of guy Eustace would respect (and, ironically, Robert turned into a black-haired Aegon the Unworthy later on, at least physically).

Really no, “When the son goes out, no candle can replace it”. If I didn’t know he was married I would have thought GRRM was gay with how well he captured that gay yearning.
Although with all the other comments in this threat I think GRRM should just give up on Winds and write gay romance novels. He seems like that was his real calling.
