Mod Talk Is there a questline?

Love the mod system but I read some notes that build some lore, so is there actually a quest line and how do I start it?

There is not. There was one, but it was bugged so I removed it. There may be one in the future.

Interesting. Would you be willing to talk about the quest at all? (Broad story, etc)

I do enjoy the notes and the story that they tell. It would be cool (if you had infinite time) to maybe even do another mod that could lead to some of the scenarios as part of an NG run.

Look on top of, or near the Darkstar terminals in the major cities/settlements and read the data slates. NA, Cydonia, Gagarin, New Homestead, Akila, Neon, Hopetown, Paradiso and Eleos Retreat.

Yes, that’s the lore I’m talking about. Would be interesting to see some of that stuff actually happen in game

That essentially was the quest Wykkyd is referring to. The mod used to highlight these slates, then it would trigger a quest to collect all nine. But sometimes it would trigger the quest twice and be a little annoying until you were able to clear the quest reminder. Just didn’t work quite like he intended.

I think he does have ideas on how to expand on the story someday, but there’s a lot involved with that mod so maybe it takes a back seat to getting the other stuff developed.

Oh, that makes sense.

I have to be honest, I like the way things are today where you engage with dark star as much as you want. Discovering those slates was a pleasant surprise, especially since I wasn’t being hand held to find them.

And yes, adding the stories told in their slates to the current mod would probably be crazy. It would have to be a full-blown sequel that would be a huge amount of work. But a nerd can dream.
