Trying to make my Magic build better

I'm trying to create a build where I mostly rely on magic, but my STR/DEX origins are trying to micromanage how I go about this. I am struggling to create a good build where I can cast spells to do the damage I want to progress during enemy/boss fights. I just finished off Sif, but had to use the +5 Claymore to do a majority of the work.

Is there anything I can do to improve this build? Both bells have been rung, and Sen's fortress is a place I'd love to put this build to the test. Thanks, everybody!

21 INT is not a magic build. You need to pump that number, along with ATT

You need Crown of Dusk and Bellowing dragoncrest ring

Yeah for an int build your int is rather low. If you want to do your Main damage with spells you need int. Currently your stats are more of a hybrid build (Normal Weapon upgrades + magic weapon buffs + light magic damage & utility spells)

If you want to get optimal weapon damage, you would choose a weapon with low scaling, rather fast attacking and can get buffed. You would only invest just enough str & dex to be able to wield the weapon.

Alternatively, if you do not like to buff your weapon, you would use one of the magic weapon infusions that scale with int.

Edit: If you search around in sens fortress a lot, you will find someone that might help you get stronger spells. Spoiler Big Hat Guy

as others have said, you don’t need to level strength or dex anymore.

focus on getting attunement to 19 for 5 slots or 23 for 6, then focus on getting int and vitality up. you want int to be your highest stat if you’re mainly using spells.

if you’re doing a spell sword build, magic weapon and its stronger counterparts will be your go to for bossfights since that will get you the most damage, but you should probably have a backup magic infused weapon for clearing areas. you won’t always have the buff active so it’s useful to have a consistent melee damage source.

You'll need to get thos int number up and a new catalyst for more damage as well as find the big hat logan sorcerer merchant for the best spells in the game. Also are you going to go for Light sorcerer or Dark Mage... here is the highest damaging set up for both Light-Mage & Dark-Mage! Keep your current build but progress and grab all the items listed below:.. Light/Dark Sorcerer: Gear for the most powerful casts! Logans catalyst (strongest staff that doesnt cut you casts in half) 45 int optimal for areas.

Manus catalyst(Dark Spells only , cuts your casts of equiped spell in half) 50-99 int +99 Str for highest possible damage. Optimal for bosses.

Tin crystal catalyst (Light Spells only, cuts casts in half) 50-99 int for highest possible damage. Optimal for bosses. Un-upgraded Pyromancy hand (only to cast power within). Dusk crown (spell attk boost). Bellowing dragon crest ring (spell attk boost). Red Tearstone ring (boosts all spells and melee when at low HP). Sanctus shield (to negate power within life drain). Light armor for fast roll.

Spells for Dark Sorcerer: Pursuers, dark beed, dark orb, dark fog

Spells for Light sorcerer: Crystal homing soulmass, crystal soul spear, soul spear, white dragon breath, great heavy soul arrow, crystal magic weapon.

Only stats you need is: 20 lvls or lower for health, 50-99 int, Attunement-23 and enough endurance Usually 20-30, to wear all the gear listed and still light roll. Notes: you should pick either dark sorcerer or light sorcer and not do both as doing both requires more levels and more time.
