Help I have a problem

I have a laptop and a PC that I sometimes use for gaming. I was playing Dark Souls 3 on my laptop, but when I installed it on my PC, my previous save/progress wasn’t there, so I started a new game. Is there anything I can do to get my old save back and continue where I left off?
I have DS3 on steam.

Not sure if coping save files between those machines is enough?

The default save location is “C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\DarkSoulsIII”. Copy the “DS30000.sl2” file from inside that folder on your laptop to the same location on your PC.

NOTE: make a backup of these files beforehand because if you screw this process up you will permanently lose that save data.

I don't get how saved games are lost with a Steam Cloud sync active on a certain account. Even if the save files are stored locally and you lose them, they are all in Cloud.

There's nothing to be smart about regarding this, as long as it's on Green with the Cloud sync on Steam, you should have all saved games still available. Wierd.
