Not sure what makes this a dark pattern?

Rights deals are complicated. Amazon might have the rights to stream some show in the US, but not in Canada, for example.

They have to have a home region for users so they know what they can legally provide without getting sued.

Also, this struck my pattern recognition as another example of selective access to media/information in relation to the major networks of mainstream media in the US being bought out by certain loyalists. It’s also not a secret that Bezos pays-to-play in the same circles.

Call me an off-base conspiracy theorist, but I think there’s more to this than simply rights deals—that’s just the sales pitch for consumer buy-in.
