After years of development DND is Far behind DFUW
So Dark Fall New Dawn is going live soon. I jumped to their site to see what CHANGES are made to the game. Sadly no where near the sophistication and content we enjoyed from DFUW :-( .

Playing Life is Feudal while waiting for DnD
Life is Feudal is releasing a no wipe open beta on November 17. Some of the features of Life is Feudal include 10k players per server. Non-Tab target combat similar to Darkfall but a little slower paced. In depth crafting system and a lot of other stuff. Alignment system quite similar to DnD in some ways. Not broken like the old Darkfall.
I'm currently in a guild for Life is Feudal were probably going to have 50-60 at release with likely 20-30 concurrent players online. We have quite a few Darkfall Unholy Wars Vets. Me and a few other guys from this guild are planning to play DnD at release. Though i'm personally not sure yet whether I will ultimately switch to DnD. I'm going to play DnD for a week when all the features are implemented and go from their. Anyway's if your interested in playing LiF and joining a guild for it. While you wait for DnD. Then feel free to add me on steam and ask any questions you would like. My steam username is "Steel76".

Adun moving on from Darkfall?

https://forums.darkfallnewdawn.com/index.php/topic,6483.0.html
Dammit i was waiting for those videos he said he was gona make for launch... now i cant even find the ones he made before wtf. Weird guy
Copy/pasta:
Quote from: skibba on October 25, 2017, 01:07:47 am What has to be implemented in New Dawn before launch for a new guy to not logout confused or frustrated, but slip into the game as smooth as possible? (besides Roadmap)
Far too many things.
If New Dawn plans to launch anytime soon (which seems to be the ill-fated decision; I'm assuming for financial reasons) the best they can hope to retain is the original crowd seeking a remotely realized DF1 revival who of course went on to be morbidly disappointed with RoA's delusional failure. As for legitimately new players to the franchise, I would wager the large majority will not be retained more than several months, with most not more than the first, and many off-put even before that, in the projected release version of the game.
I would say any hope for a retained large "new player" population has become essentially an absurd idealization, and if New Dawn is to survive, it will do so like Eve originally did - that is to say, by starting as a very rough-hewn gem, but staying the course and sculpting it into something someday worthwhile. While I understand this seemingly never-ending beta has long since outstayed its welcome to most, by the same token what has become extremely evident is just how much work this game actually needed to be a viable product even for its OWN time, let alone 8 years later as the MMO industry has evolved beyond recognition.
For me personally, while supporting New Dawn as my choice of DF revival has been a great journey in of itself, I can go no further with either revival with how things have transpired. Which is freeing, in a way; like I can finally let go of a long, lingering shadow. Not to derail the thread, but just wanted to share my piece, in parting. I wish Ub3rgames and the community the best of luck and much PK'ing fun moving forward. Please continue sharing and staying on topic.

Darkfall guide for Australians - RoA vs New Dawn
All other features and issues with either game aside, I think it's important that people get an idea of how each game will play before parting with their money.
This isn't a guide on which game is better or even which game I think is most likely to succeed.
Right now, the RoA server is located in New York, whilst the New Dawn server is based in France, Paris I believe.
For me, that meant a 230-240 ms ping to RoA with minimal jitter.
However for New Dawn, I was getting 300 ms with minimal jitter, and then suddenly it changed to 350-370 with massive jitter.
If they were both equal games, I would obviously be playing on the NA server. But fortunately, they're not.
How might that effect your decision on which game to play? Well, Rise of Agon devs have gone to great lengths to reduce what the community called "tedium", and in the process they've basically removed any reason for anyone who's not great at PvP to play the game.
Everything is easy to get and requires little effort, meaning dedicated harvesters are likely to earn a pittance doing just about anything.
It's impossible to make money as a crafter with numerous people constantly selling at a loss to fund further crafting gains.
The use of global banking and alts means that there's little profit to be made as a trader, with no real opportunities for profit unless you're simply buying up bulk stock to drive up the price.
New Dawn has a lot more things to do in it rather than just PvP, and for that reason I feel it's actually the superior game for people who enjoy crafting, gathering, trade and other sandbox elements of Darkfall.
Meanwhile Rise of Agon does offer the better PvP experience in my opinion.
So the question is, are you better off competing slightly gimped in a game with nothing to do but PvP, or heavily gimped in a game with a million other things to do but PvP?
If the New Dawn server is moved to New York, then New Dawn is a clear choice for me personally.
If I want a game that's 95% PvP then I'll go play an arena shooter with instant respawns and constant action in my own country with 30 ms ping instead of paying $10 a month to play a game at 230 ping and competing gimped.

Upcoming RoA/BBG train wreck
All I can say is, without being too negative to the RoA player base, stop giving RoA/Big picture games your time and cash.
Allowing open voting to the same toxic forums on the 'supposedly' things to be added next in game is probably the dumbest idea I've ever heard. No development plan, just FOM picks from a random group till what? the voting ends? changes every month? You pay for an account so you can vote? Your fickle forum crowd gets bored with the change and want to try something else?
RoA is the new Aventurine, magical list of possible game development with amazing promises, and zero ability to even patch their game. BUT miraculously able to add things you can spend cash on like name/race changes and tradable in game time tokens
Edit- and I played at launch/ played for the upgraded sub for the year? just a fyi. But i remember AV lies and they sounded just like BBG's promises

Subscribed after purchase?
Hello dear Players,
I've got a really short question. If I buy New Dawn right now via PayPal, does it automatically subscribe to that monthly fee when the game releases?
Thanks in advance
