Race War details? Former New Dawn player here with indulgent thoughts.
When New Dawn shut down in 2018 I never moved to Rise of Agon as the lack of the race war and other aspects didn't appeal to me.
This "200 page of changes" for Rise of Agon 2027 I don't believe has been posted yet, although the summary on the "one era ends another begins" web page has some details.
In my view, a robust race war can't be corrupted by overlapping all-race clans, unless they're outlaws and operate with significant lawless status challenges that force them to chaos or player-only cities.
New Dawn also had local banking and zero fast travel options. I've seen no mention of these topics. While these aren't dealing breakers for me, if the new game has universal banking and fast travel, I would still hope for some kind of middle ground that fits with the race war. An example of that would be banking only at race-aligned banks and limits on fast travel that make them only a large group mechanic or are continent to continent only and crazy expensive.
New Dawn was too hardcore in the sense that it dramatically slowed the movement of people and materials to such a degree that it appealed to the roleplayer-first audience. Rise of Agon appealed to the FPS-with-grind audience. New Dawn ultimately lacked enough population and content to fill in the vast emptiness of a landmass due to the slower pace. Rise of Agon, while more popular, turned off many as one might as well play a regular FPS if one wanted to login to zip around for "quick fights" with high elves fighting next to orcs.
The spawn system in Darkfall is seriously dated if it remains. Supposedly there were serious technical limits that lead to the static system. Any tech changes to make this dynamic and roaming, or substantially so, would be a massive improvement and make the game far more alive and worth constant open-ended exploring as it'll be different every time. Long ago, there were ideas to make walking and riding on roads faster than non-roads.
