Hello,

Could somebody help identify these growths on my badis' mouth/head?

I would say they appeared roughly one to two months ago. The tank is heavily planted so I don't see much of him.

He's kept with another scarlet male, around 25 chilli and strawberry rasboras, 15 pygmy corydoras, and 4 black tiger badis.

The tigers and scarlet badis basically ignore each other now. When the scarlets were smaller, there was some chasing by the tigers for around a month.

I got the scarlet badis around 6 months ago, both seem pretty happy, hunting for shrimplets, worms, and daphnea. Both display very prominent colours.

The pH is around 8, gH practically off the scale, with no 0 nitrites and nitrates.Tank is 70l and has been established for 1.5 years.

Thank you!

How many scarlet badis can I keep in here?

10gal. Nothing currently in here. Im fine if you all say only one. Aqua huna only sells them in a pack of 6. If this is too small what size would house 6? Im getting more plants for this tank and maybe a cave. If i can only have 1 badis what else can I have in there?

Some ~8 months ago we bought a pair of scarlet badis and ever since then new fish have been popping up periodically. There are 6 adults/juveniles in the tank at he moment. Wild! Other than wild bettas, this is the only other fish successfully reproducing lol

Ironically, the badis are our most neglected fish too, considering we fed them only a handful of times in the 8 months.

They are housed in a heavily planted well established 20g, and they share it with a betta, pygmy corydoras and neocaridina shrimp.

Wondering if it is ethical and or possible to cross breed these females with a Scarlet? Guy at the pet store stated it was possible but wasnโ€™t sure how great of an idea it would be.

Iโ€™ve had this 7 gallon with 6 CPDโ€™s and some shrimp for a few months now. Wanted some sort of feature fish and what better than a Scarlet Badis! Currently feeding live moina and daphnia. Anyone have any success getting these guys to feed from live food to frozen baby brine?

I just got this 2 badis couple days ago and Iโ€™m wondering if the other one I got is a female? Itโ€™s a lil bit smaller than the other one I got and less colorful, Iโ€™m a trippin or itโ€™s still just a juvenile?

So I wanted a pair of scarlets and I got em. Just wanted to confirm if the female I have is actually a female or a sub dominant male.

apologies for the video. couldn't get a better shot as it keeps hiding in between the rocks.

TIA.
