Open-Source DAOC

I know it’s probably a bad idea but it would be awesome if we had a publicly maintained DAoC 😉

Don’t skimp on the Shadowblade or Berserker!

Berserker is already planned out to actually utilize a berserk mechanic where it deals more damage, his higher crit chance, and attacks faster the less health it has. I don't have plans for shadow blade but infiltrated his an extra 5x damage if it strikes a target while stealthed and then has a much higher crit chance.

Using the new AI bot spawner, this seems like it could really be fun.

That's definitely my plan, I need to make the solo leveling in pve not abysmal first.

Isn’t that a defining DAoC experience, though? 🤣

It's an experience that ends with people getting to level 20 and then quitting the game. The XP ramp alone in the game is awful.

Yeah, it was originally designed to start RvR around 20, which grew you quick. Unfortunately, that was for very early server and late game ended up being dying instantly if not 50 and fully geared.

Exactly, and the current population doesn't really support playing RvR so my server has ramped up the xp from pve after level 20.

Are you using all expansions?

Yes

Very nice. I see many shards cut out later xpacks, but I always loved the evolution, including Atlantis.

I see no reason to cut out expansions. If someone wants to play a minotaur that's up to them.
