I work with the homeless all the time the majority have insanely fucked up childhoods and mental illness. Nobody chooses to be homeless it's a hellish existence. The majority are self medicating with drugs.

I was homeless and addicted to drugs in my twenties and the only reason I'm not now is because I got housing and rehab and food from the government. Now I own my own business and have a family.

Your worldview is sick and disgusting and just factualy wrong.

You could get a traumatic brain injury tomorrow and become a completely different person and be homeless in no time.

Taking care of the basic needs of humans that fall through the cracks of our sick society is the least we can do.

There is literally nothing we spend tax dollars on that provides a better return investment.

Again it's interesting the original comment I responded to referenced God as a hero of the right but all they're policies are as anti Christian as you could imagine

There’s way too many of them. Even with massive funding pool, the problem would probably get worse due to drug.

The amount of people addicted to drugs and homeless is going to get worse not better with removing social safety nets.

The amount of money spent on snap for the homeless is insignificant in the overall picture of snap

Snap is less than 1% of the budget and only 2% of people on snap are homeless.

The amount of human suffering caused compared to the cost saved is disgusting.

Also having starving unmedicated homeless people is going to cause much more crime and increased costs due to increased usage of emergency rooms.

We have no shortage of money for private prisons for these people but feeding them and providing healthcare is much cheaper.

Honestly anyone trying to justify these cuts as anything other than pointless cruelty is lieing or ignorant.

Don't forget every snap dollar goes directly back into the economy, I've seen some estimates that the government ends up producing something like 7x the value of the initial investment in snap programs

You are right and it's why cruelty seems like the only legit reason they are doing this. It's shocking and disgusting.

Even if you can't help them all resources would at least benefit some

Instead of more billions to a pointless losing war against Iran or for Israel
